Just to clarify im actually hindu and from India but of course I agree with you as a fellow freedom of speech believer and college student, its hard to be religious. Just saying that you have to know that you are going to an extreme by insulting a figure that is revered by a lot of people. Jokes are harmless and can be beneficial, but I think there is a difference between being insulting and funny. I would love for them to want to live with the same standard of human rights as we do, but the getting them there part is not helped by pissing on their faith.

I piss on all faiths. They're all ridiculous.

If I call mohammed a dick, and you believe he is real, then it is between mohammed and me... you (as a believer) should not be bothered, as it is not you that has called him a dick.

So why would you want to kill me?

I realise you're a hindhu, i'm speaking generally.

Because in reality, Mohammed/God is just a social conscience, loosely speaking of course. Christians, as of recent (disregarding the old testament), preach love and compassion, even for those of other faiths. Love your neighbor. This could not be a bad thing for the "followers", its religion or environmentalism at this point, if your a follower. What does the Arab social conscience dictate. No love, no compassion, unless converted. Its as simple as this, hate those that refuse to convert. You can say convert to Islam, but really it is conforming to a backwards way of thinking that entails no free thought, only rigid adherence to a tradition of male dominance over all things physical and spiritual. The argument that a small faction preach hate is false, it is the norm.

My friend do you care about nothing in this world? What if I looked at your plants and told you they looked like they grew in an asshole? Made fun of your family, or the way you look? Now I know you wouldn't kill me for this, but you might fight or have words over it. The point is, If i didn't like the way you looked, i wouldn't look at you, I wouldn't feel the need to voice to everyone who is listening how ugly you are. Why not enjoy your aethiesm without lashing out at other religions in the most insulting manner you could to them just because its not offensive to you. The only thing that could possibly result from that is one side being offended and pissed off. Now i discern that you care little about pissing anyone off, but why not leave it at 'religion is misguiding and look at how people can warp it to suit evil'. The whole vulgarity of your sentence is a bit unnecessary. I am not even a religious person but I can understand this. You're attitude is just a bit off in my opinion, and I would like to live in a world where an firm aethiest and scientist could amicably discuss such things as Mohammed for the sheer reason that even if he isn't 'real' his impact is quite real. Discussing how to temper the extremity of the faith could even prove valuable in the fight against terrorism. Calling their Prophet a dick probably only helps to embolden them.

Emboldened? Death to America, Death to America! Whether most muslims agree or not, to find muslims disavowing these statements is rare at best.

If you toldme anything about me I would laugh... as you do not know anything about me. So, how could I be offended.

Tell me i'm ignorant, I really don't care... as I know the truth and I live my life without any doubt whatsoever. Can you say the same? You a believer in magic?

Do you never doubt your beliefs?

I can honestly tell you that I do not doubt mine.

Accepting the truth is hard... but it serves in giving your life more purpose.

WOW, i mean really Wow. Ask one of the 6-7 million muslims living in the US. Ask a Muslim in India, I have. They might not care for all of americas policies, but not one I talked to wanted Death for anyone. Where does this polarized hatred come from on BOTH sides? I am just so confused by it all, maybe the problem is too many people just enjoy fighting or saying they`re better than someone else.

And to you skunky, i'm not suggesting you doubt yourself, and no I do not believe in magic, but David Copperfield is pretty cool. I'm just trying to get you to understand that when a Muslim says if you are not Muslim you are evil and should go to hell. It is the same as someone saying religion is for sheep, you guys are all dumb and should walk yourselves off a cliff. We have to try and be accepting of other beliefs even if we do not believe in them ourselves, or we are no better than them.

There is propaganda from both sides. You live in the west, so you yourself see the news reports.

Personally, I understand that the Taliban threat are much apart from the rest of the Muslim world. Even now the Pakistani armies are struggling to keep the taliban under control...

...but this thread is about the absurdity of the muslim world calling for the execution of a woman that named a teddy bear Mohammed.

Chanting in the street, and the burning of British flags.

I agree with you as to the absurdity of it, although I'd hesitate in your generalization of the muslim world. Still fighting hatred with hatred only leads to more hatred.
