I'm so hot.

Well, the grow box is. :(

First, thanks for such an informative resource. I've read tons here. And now after reading thousands posts, I'm looking for some direction.

Can anyone help me cool my box off? I'm new to closet growing. And my setup is even smaller than a closet.

I have a 2'x2'x6' wooden box divided into 2 sections. The top part is 32" high. And the bottom makes up the rest.

I'm running a 150w hps in the top (I know I should be using mh. But it's what I have) for seeds and clones. The lower section is using a 400w mh for vegetation. Both lights are running 20/4.

I have each section individually vented at the top of their respective spaces with an 80cfm vent fan into a 4" tube terminating outside. Each section has a 4" intake of fresh outside air, each utilizing a 4" inline fan @ 80cfm. The fresh air line feeding them (before it's split) is augmented with an 8" 400cfm inline fan.

Each section is equipped with circulation fans within as well.

At this point, I have to leave the doors open because the temperature in each section hovers around 100 degrees if I close them. Of course, there's no problem with the doors open. But to conform to Medical Marijuana laws in my state, they need to be under lock and key.

Any suggestions? Or are my lights simply too big for the small areas I'm growing in?

I would recommend switching your 400cfm fan to the exhaust tubing. Your exhaust should be stronger than your intake in order to ventilate properly.

400watts in that small of a space is hard to vent out, 250 would be sufficient and CFLs for the veg part would be less heat.
Im not sure what you can do to lower the heat unless you have a cooltube that could help

Thanks, Daniels. That looks like it might help. But I'm not sure it'd work.

@FCSoldier I took your advice and did that. No difference. I think I'm done messing with airflow.

I'm going to take alexonfire's suggestion and just downgrade to a 250w.

Thanks, guys!
