I'm stumped (recent cloning issue).

Hey guys/gals, been awhile since I've posted because everything is going so awesome. Lately with my clones and some vegging plants in my veg room I've been noticing little white dots on the leaves (almost circular) that are almost shiny maybe even streaky, almost like a snail. I've been cloning a ton of SLH and C99, but whatever it is seems to favor the Super Lemon Haze. On some of the clones that are in soil the main stem where it attaches to the dirt looks like a build up of crystals (could very well be mildew or mold?). My girlfriend literally just walked in and brought me my loupe with a leaf.. Looking through it I see small white (clear) eggs (fuck) under the leaf, almost like a white patch. To the naked eye it looks like the smallest of small white spec. I just took a ton of pics so please give me any input you can. My whole veg room is very very sterile and everything is on tables off of the floor.

My Veg room and the beautiful Cinderella we need to save in the next room over from whatever this is spreading :-( She's also a polyploid with a nug that looks like a baseball :)

Girlfriend is another room hollering "Yeah babe you're right. it's thrips.." (Double fuck..)
Any cure or preventative measure I can take? I have like 800 ladybugs in my flower room roaming around just in-case anything might want to make a new home lol. Thanks again.

Look under your leaves for either spidermites(found tonight in a GSC a friend brought over... tossed it.)

or Thrips. have these right now as well.... both will cause white dots and damage on the leaves in early stages.

Spider mites (if thats what it is) spread faster than anything, lower your temps if its high, don't get them on your bigger plants and dip the little ones in solutions. once now, once in a couple days to take care of those nasty eggs too.

Thanks. I noticed it also in my flower room. Good thing I only have about a week or so until harvest. I'm trying to figure out a solution to get rid of them. After harvest I can bomb it and kill everything in there and essentially have a fresh start on my flower room. In my veg room (pictured above) I can spray the hell out of the plants then move them over to the flower room while I bomb the veg room? Of course I'm going to scour the internet to find the best possible solution, but do you guys (or have you guys) have a good way to sterilize without having to start from seed again? I really took the time to caulk and foam every crack in those rooms (2 car garage) before I even planted a seed.. sucks. I think I'm going to hire a pest control service to do the outside of my house on a bi-monthly basis if that would help. Thanks again for all the help , this is my first grow and absolutely love it :)

Again if spidermites, Floramite SC helped me once before, but the again I dipped everything all the way in, twice. Cant use on flowers.

you'll drive yourself crazy chasing eradication.

focus on mitigation and control. spray preventatively from now on, and to take care of the mites/thrips you have now, spray in a 3-5-7 day cycle. neem oil is a good start, there are heavier duty sprays though.

Thanks for the replies. Was up all night trying to find a Thrip and doing research. I cannot find one F'ing thrip. I read they like to lurk parallel to veins in leaves and are good at hiding. I have all the signs of thrips, just can't find one. I'm pretty sure I see eggs in the loupe and have silver streaks on the leaves with little black piles of shit which pretty much say thrips. I'm going to go out today and buy some Monterey Spinosad Organic Garden Insect Spray, anyone use it?

Dudes, I spent hours this morning trying to find a living bug and finally found one. It looks exactly like the lower pick but a little more greenish. Long, green (from the naked eye) in the loupe it looks like a clear lobster with no shell. To find it I got a piece of white paper and shook the shit out of my vegging plants then observed all the little specs with my loupe. Sure as shit one of the specs on the paper was green and looked as I previously described. Thanks guys for all your help. Had friends that grow come over the past week or so because I knew something was up but they insisted everything was fine.. Time to go get a Spinosad based spray and get to work. LOL on a funny note I trapped a lady bug in my loupe then set it on the fucking Zoidberg and watched it chew it up. So cool :)

Get it online if you go for spinosad. the one at home depot and lowes is 0.0001%.... Not strong enough in most cases.

What i am using is a mix i got from ~Dankster~420.
1qt spray bottle

1qt HOT water
6 drops Tabasco Sauce
5 drops Dawn
1 Tsp Vegetable Oil

Mix well. let cool completely, mix again and soak the garden. If you have allergies i suggest holding your nose. I sneeze like crazy breathing in the hot sauce lol.

it's all organic and works in 3-5 days.
My Thrip larvae population decreased by more than 50% in one use. Just sprayed again last night for the second time. and will continue for the 5 days. then soak them all in water to clean off the leaves from any residue left behind.

Good luck
Stew

PS- Glad it's not mites. they are a bitch.

Also. better to do it with the lights off. the mix stays on the leaves longer without drying up and kills more per spraying.

I have 2 lights in my tent right now. and i turn one off. spray one side. let sit for 30 minutes or so. turn that back on and turn the other off and do the same. this way my bulbs are safe from rupture and the plants get a good dose of the spray.

Hoping to get rid of them before i flip the tent on the 1st.

... I'm about to go check my plants again to make sure it is really working.
if not Spinosad is where i'm going next. lol

Heh.. those are little guys.. pick em up and run the leaves under swiftly running sink water while you simply wash them off as you rub the leaves with your fingers.. .. do this daily and get a kitchen plant friendly Raid type spray, alcohol or bleach) and spray your area while you are out washing your plants in another room (never spray it around the plants) . DO this simple thing daily for a few weeks and you might even be lucky and have em gone by flower..

Just me, that/s what I wold do.. or rather, when I have em like that, that is what I do.. but others may have other ideas.. I just like using water as much as possible.. On a good crop, t all my leaves ever see, but prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Obviously my advice might be different if those were monsters.. but heck, if EVER you were going to be able to defeat mites, this is the time to do it.

Pretty good tip with the lights off thing. I was thinking about adding Danksters recipe into a bottle of Spinosad lol. Only bummer is the ladybugs that are now scouring my veg room, they are gunna hate me (if they live).

Lady bugs may be enough for thrips and the larvae. i'm not sure exactly what they eat. i know they eat aphids and gnats. lol

Yeah. The pics I posted are of my veg maybe a few days ago. I couldn't imaging lugging those C99 with the tomato cages on them to under a sink to rinse em off. They've been vegging for like 2 months haha. I'd be better off bringing in a water hose from outside. I like your idea of sterilizing the room, I'm definitely going to do something. Mites have a lifespan of a few days if I remember right, hope i can make that veg room un-inhabitable for those thrips to die off. Thanks again.

Glad you are getting them under control man.

and good you checked that spinosad %. but honestly, I bought a quart of the concentrate like three years ago and still have like 7/8ths of it left . What a waste really I'm am not sure about the shelf life of the stuff, but since it's a bacteria it probably isn't that long. I should look this up. It would be nice if there were like a 1-5% solution available. Maybe there is.. I don't know.

and if you ever have the misfortune of getting mites. Abamectin is what you need. Liquid death to mites. Only good in veg. tho.

I literally watched a ladybug in my loupe bite one in half lmao. They love em!!
that is just friggin awesome man!
