so im on the converge to becomig a hydro guy,the soil is just starting to annoy me with waterin and the mess of it and that it takes up too much space now,i set up a 2gal dwc setup with a baby coleus in it as a test run to see how the roots will take favor to it.got a pump that is for like 20-55gal aquariums wit 2 air stones in it.ill throw a female cannabis clone in it to see how she does.

im excited about the no more mess, eventually ill switch to ebb/flood setups and drip setups, one step at a time. im goin to do a nute test run with the clone, and the coleus will probally get a stock like 2in thick and have a shitload of roots.

any advice would be nice,im all ears.

will do,ill put a pic of the baby coleus up when its roots hit the bubbles, prob a day or two,i want to see how the roots will be affected by it.the container is similar to this one except mine has a handle and i have the air tube running out through the bottom and siliconed shut to seal the water from leaking out

Just a thought and i only say this because you said you were eventually going there EBB & FLOW and from experience and learning how hard this can be you want it to be as easy as possible. IS this a space limit issue or just trying it out? You could set up a small E&F and then you would have a better understanding of what you will need to build the real one? Just a thought.

i have a soil setup goin so the dwc is on the side still recieving plenty of light,i want to become acustomed to the hydro from one step at a time and with all setups till i find out what i like. the dwc is just easy to do and will be good for me till i get more spare time and money. learning is the fun part, ive been in soil for years now and just gettin bored with it

i needed to put floats on my tanks anyway:weed:

Bonus is your not a complete newb you know how to grow:weed:
