If those two feebs won we would be so fucked right now. Depsite our economy being all jacked up from Bush at least Obama has a handle on this and shows up once a week in a public forum to discuss what he has been doing. Bush couldn't possibly be more invisible and republicans in house/senate can't get shit done. If McCain/Palin had won that would have been the last nail in our coffin for sure.

I've been damned impressed with how Obama got right to work.Usually you don't hear much from the president elect until inauguration day.

We would surely be fucked on January 20, 2009. But right now we have a democratic majority senate, after the "thumping" in 06. And Obama has me worried about the national debt right now.

And Obama has just promised another trillion dollars of debt to be paid off by future generations. And, you think he's going to be different from Bush? LMAO!

:bigjoint: No attacks on the homeland in the the foreseeable future would be great! That's change I hope doesn't occur. I'll at least give Sir Bush of Profligate Spending that.

ALL politicians are crooked, not just republicans. Seriously, John Mccain is an honorable man, he even told republicans to back off on Obama in this latest Illinois governor scandal. He was also a POW in Vietnam for five years and never wrote any form of propaganda for the Vietnamese, and he was severly beaten for it. On top of that he was given the opportunity to leave the hanoi hilton because of his father's status as an admiral, but he refused. Despite your political beliefs, John Mccain deserves respect.

Yes, I believe he does, but he is certainly no saint. I believe he was the root cause of the forrestal incident, crashed 5-7 planes, and was an overall jackass in his younger years.

No politicians are saints. They all have to lie, cheat, steal and murder to be good career politicians. Just look at the criminal history of the United States Congress, its out of control. All i know is john mccain's character was tested to the extremes and he passed. Very few people are capable of such a thing

He was just following orders.
military code of conduct:
Article III.
If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and to aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

Just following orders? Its not like soldiers are robots and are programmed to obey those orders, especially when they're starving. I think people just need to learn to give respect where respect is due, despite someones political view points.
