In a 4x4

I’m currently running a 480W bar style led and love it. I know people run 600-700W bar lights in 4x4. Is it really worth it to pay for a new bar light with more watts and take it to that next level of watts when I’m running 480W? Of course environment and feeding has to be dialed in.
Basically what I’m asking are the yields significantly different? Thanks everyone.

If you wanna do higher wattage why not try adding some color strips (red, blue or uv). That way you get higher power without changing light and you also get the possibility to tinker with the spectrum.

I like this idea. Adding a UV bar has always intrigued me.
If you plan on adding uv you should probably also use a similar wattage of red: the uv will activate the plants blue response (lower yield/shorter node spacing etc) and its a good idea to offset this.

What! Sheesh I didn’t realize so much went into spectrum and it’s effect on growth. We buy these led “grow lights” labeled full spectrum and don’t bat an eye at the science. Guess I should dive deeper into lights, par, and spectrum. Thanks for the head up!

The new ViparSpectra KS5000 looks pretty sweet. 500 watts. Lil bit better spread and coverage than the competitors, as I've seen (i think that extra 20 watts helps, lol)

I'm looking for a light for a 4x4 tent. What light are you using?
