In House Genetics BAD Herm Sugar Cane

Let me start by saying I've never had a herm issue in the 2 years I've been growing where I am. About 30 days into flower, one of my 3 Sugar Cane IHG seeds just produced a ton of seeds. Any damage has already been done as the seeds were growing 2/3 up the plant on the youngest bud sites already. I only have like 2-3 weeks left in flower so I guess I'm riding it out. Too late to quarantine or trash.

Safe to say I won't be doing IHG again since I paid $100 for seeds making seeds. I usually buy from the seedsman collection and I guess this is a lesson learned for me. These seeds were from NASC but I will say I've had 0 issues with seeds from NASC previously. If I grow more seeds I can take pics, but honestly if anyone is in doubt I can open the garbage bag and show you all the seeds. Fucking wild I've never seen them just appear so suddenly and widespread.

It happens.
I keep a close eye right after switching to 12/12 for that reason.
Got a half dozen beans i found trimming a single bud from my last grow. I will probably grow them out.

Edit: Not IHG beans, Just transitioning plants in general.

Full on balls on all new growth on just one plant of the three. When I mean a lot I mean full clusters of half dozen or more. They are all contained in a paper bag but I've never seen the shit so widespread this late in flower.

I will say overall the plants are doing VERY WELL otherwise. The left plant is the offender. I should take an updated pic just to show how much I had to strip off of her just to clean her up. Definitely makes me want to stick to simpler genetics.

I'm confused.. You were 30 days into flower but only 2-3 weeks left in flower ? :eyesmoke:

And you said hermed but then it was seeded?

What am I missing..?
They are at 30 days of 12/12 with another 35 to go probably. Sorry it's been a long day with this plant nonsense. So about 5 weeks to go.

I've had nanners a couple of times but it was always controllable. Never had a full on herm though. From what I read it happens with feminized seeds more. And honestly do search of any big breeder and you'll see compaints of hermed plants. It happens.

Those plants are barely into flower. There is no way you pulled a ton of beans out of there.
Even the one on the left. Do you mean balls, or pollen sacs?

My apologies as these had to be dug out of the refuse but you can see what fell off just removing them from the bag.

Those are male flowers..
You should kill that plant, it is a full blown herm
Is the bud on the main colas even worth saving? Or is it just wasting valuable light from the other 2 at this point? Im still just floored as this hasn't happened before in the last 8 harvests. New experience for me. Sad to have to cut off a finger to save the hand but sounds like that's where I'm headed. Hope it wont ruin the other 2 plants.
