According to me? Fucking fantastic!

I'm going to post a bunch of pictures here since the majority of my updates are lost in time.

These are from approx. a month ago when I finally got my complete setup put together in its current state. Big Improvement!

A week later.. I was having what I can only assume were N deficiencies... At this point I started giving them more nutrients.

I was using the Roots Organics feeding schedule plus some Nature's Nectar N, and tea every week. I couldn't seem to get rid of the yellowing off though. The next week..

They're all like 43 days from seed in that set.

A few days later and it's time to transplant. This is the Fruity Chronic Juice I think. I was expecting to see some good size root masses but it was nothing spectacular. Maybe that's how the Root pots work though. I transplanted all of them into the #5s I had instead of #3s because those were just too shallow to put in a sizeable layer of the Super Soil. I transplanted them with my Super Soil, straight RO, plus some Oregonism XL and fed them each .5 gal of water and then an hour later .5 gal of a 1:3 solution of AACT, Molasses, Superthrive, and Ancient Amber.

I'm going to just step out here and say that as a first-timer, I officially endorse Sub's 2010 revised Super Soil recipe. It could be a combination of having more space and what-not, but I haven't had a single issue since transplanting. They took to their new homes immediately and have not looked back. This is a few hours after transplant. Didn't slow them down one bit.

Sunday I started winding down the light cycle from 18-6. So today they're on 15-9, tomorrow they'll be on 14-10, and so on. Saturday they'll go without light, and Sunday starts 12-12. The HPS I just swapped intoday. It's a EYE Hortilux Super-HPS 430W lamp. The day I picked up that bulb in the shop they had actually ran out of the 400W'ers, so after a little discussion about me having the new Lumatek ballasts with the SL setting, the shop owner said the 430W'er would be a perfect fit. I didn't even know they made 430W ballasts. It just seemed like such an odd number. Whatever though, it's working just fine and as you can tell, the plants are loving it.. Oh yeah.. since the transplant I've only given them a weekly AACT, Molasses, Trinity solution.

The Jack Herer. She's just filled in really nicely after lagging the other two I topped (Critical Kali Mist and Fruity Chronic Juice) by at least 6" of vertical growth. Nice compact growth centered around the 4 main colas that are developing.

And this fucking thing has me all confused, definitely in a good way though. This is the Vanilla Kush which I had almost written off a while back. I had to completely stop her main vertical growth last week because it was just so vigorous. It was either that or keep raising the hood just for her, possibly causing more stretch in the others. You can see that had the desirable effect of creating some lateral growth though, and I'll take it. The 4 grams I was hoping for off her had turned into more like at least an O.

Critical Kali Mist. Just no complaints at all from her. I cleaned up the lowest growth because it really didn't look like it would amount to much. Those two central colas though.. oh yeah, can't wait!

Same thing with this hooker. Fruity Chronic Juice. I was going to let them go another full week before flipping but I stood back and guess-timated that if they did that I might run out of vertical space once they're through the stretch.

Fuuuck yeah...

This is something I've always wanted to do for real; all of my other juvenile attempts were completely platonic efforts.

Man, it's been a while since I've updated. It's been pretty much like clock work though since transplanting to Super Soil and flipping 'em. Here's the interesting parts..

The Jack Herer has continued to maintain her relative stature through the first few weeks of flower. At first I was a little bit put off by the characteristics since I had assumed that she would be the second-most Sativa dominant in the tent but you know.. I have no experience to back up that assumption to begin with so I kind of just learned to appreciate her individual tendencies without regard to what I thought I had, and either way.. she's looking very nice. Short, compact internodes.. Forecast=Stacks:eyesmoke:!

Ms. Fruity Chronic Juice...:leaf::hump:! I really like this plant because she's just been so consistent throughout her development. No issues dealing with my beginner's mistakes at all. The Attitude's description mentioned 20% THC so we'll see but I'd say this one's looking to yield some might fine hash at this point.

Alright, this one has just surpassed all of my expectations. I pretty much wrote off the Vanilla Kush up until she was transplanted into Super Soil, but since that time she's just gone nuts on me. She's pretty floppy and random-looking since I didn't top her like the rest but there are just bud sites everywhere:bigjoint:. That being said, if I could only grow one Kush, it wouldn't be this one. There are just so many other options out there. I'm probably going to grow an OG strain next.

The Critical Kali Mist is in a league of her own. Unfortunately, with my limited vertical space in the DR90 I had to top her last week. I had raised the hood to its highest point and she just continued to grow vertically after the others had stopped. Late into flowering but I think that extra growth is going to be worth it. I plan on buying another tent to move the others into for their final days while I let this one do her thing for another week or two.

Today I gave all of them a 1 gallon solution with 10mL Molasses, 5mL Agave Syrup, 5mL Trinity and a couple of drops of SuperThrive. Hopefully all of those buds will start packing on some weight and in a week or so I'll have some pics of fat, sugary colas.

looking very nice. i have used super thrive during flowering but now i generally stop using the super thrive after i go into flowering. on the bottle, it says it extends plant life and i am not looking to extend the life of a 9 week flowering plant to 11 weeks of flowering. idk if the stuff will really do that, but its what i think.

Just my opinion, but you should top once or twice more before going into flower... imagine those half the height with 4-8 colas :)

I've been debating superthrive in flower as well. I think it depends on your goals. If you want the buds out as fast as possible, don't superthrive. It will make the plant focus a bit more on root development and might delay your bud formation some. Big roots = big buds though... if your goal is the biggest possible buds I think superthriving up until flowers start fully forming is probably ok. I've never seen anyone who used it all the way through flower so would be curious... I usually don't use it at all once I get into 12/12 -- usually i superthrive the shit out of them right before they get flipped though.

What size bottle do you have? I only have the tiny one and there's no mention of extending plant life. Here on their website "Unique Extra Life" is mentioned but that could be taken any number of ways.

Have you noticed a difference when you have used it during flowering?

Weird, I never noticed your post before. Yeah there's definitely a few things I am going to do different. I think I'm going to do a TGA SCROG with the Qush next time around. I missed the 4:20 sale but I'm sure it'll be back in stock soon enough. If not, I already have a few different strains I can play with.

I only did the one topping really, and that was early in Veg. I actually did have to top the Critical Kali about a week ago. She was overtaking the maximum height of my hood. I should also stick to three or less plants in the future, prob only two for SCROG.

No more Superthrive now, it's really just the micro-nute teas every week plus some Molasses. There's no signs of fading yet so the SS is definitely doing its due diligence.

I trimmed some lowers the other day and got a couple of legit bowls out of it. Fuckin' headrush! I like my smoke a little more mellow, not so racy. We'll see how they finishbongsmilie
