incognito grow

I want to start a grow, but i have a problem. First, im about to move into a house that i am renting with a friend. There is an attic but no basement. The only way into the attic, however, is a cut out piece of ceiling that is above the dryer. I have not had a chance to get up into it so i dont know how big it is or even if the ceiling is strong enough to support the weight.
My problem is that there is a stong possibility that my landlord will make appearances at the house. So i need to find a way to execute this without it being known. Once i move in, (4 days), i will be able to discover if the attic is suitable. My fear is that it isnt, so i may need another means. In the bedroom that will be mine, there is a walk in closet. So i believe that to be my next best location. But with the closet there is the issue of some nosy ass opening the door and seeing it.
This will be my first grow. I will be growing in soil. I have been thinking about what strain i want to try my hand at. I know that i want to grow some top notch shit. I am thinking about White Widow, but i am open to any suggestions that anyone has. Im really just going to do this grow off of what i have learned and observed on this website. So i am open for suggestions on the grow as well. I want to grow for personal use mostly. Where i live (in the capitol of the peach state) i can only get shit weed mostly, and it is very rare for me to come across good shit. I dont make an ass load of money either, so i cant afford the high bud. I just want to be able to smoke awesome weed on a consistant basis.
Any advice that anyone can give me will be appreciated.

How do you feel about growing outdoors?

Well my roommate is a fellow smoker so he likes the idea.

Auzzie, i thought about growing outdoors, but where i live, it would probably get stolen. Plus as a new grower i figured that indoor growing is easier since i can have more control. That way if something goes wrong, hopefully i can fix it easier.

That is a real possibility. but if i did that, i would need to do something about ventalation.

It's going to be your best bet with the situation you're in.

But even when growing outdoors, stealth is key. Remember to cover your tracks.

Ah you posted right when I did. Well the landlord may still be a problem...
If the landlord comes in for a routine visit, you've got yourself an issue.

But if you end up going indoors, keep in mind rule numero uno: Don't tell anybody. It's how most people get caught, and if you want to end up smoking the bud you grow. Follow it at all costs.

how often does the landlord come for an inspection?
if you can get an estimate on time, then why dont you do the first part of your grow in a stealth box that you can stash in your room for veg stage, then use closet for flowering...
most landlords around where i live do inspections every 3 months so thats the best idea out here...

how big is the backyard...by a little garden shed..make sure it is sturdy and light proof....put it into the garage or on the side of the house....both will not cause suspicion if they have lokks on them....

Why don't you try putting it into one of those portable wardrobes? I saw a guy on here that made a crazy setup like that.. I was thinking of copying his, since I will most likely be growing in my closet, or in a cabinet in my garage.

The landlord didnt specify exactly when he would show up. He simply said that he likes to just swing by to see how things are going. He is a doctor that owns a few dialysis clinics. So i dont know for sure if he even will show up. I just wanna take his word for it because i dont want to get caught with my pants down.

The back yard isnt real big but I could fit a shed back there. How much would one cost? I make 10 bucks an hour right now, so i dont have a huge budget, but i still want the best system that i can get.

I think i like the closet idea better. I can just put a lock on the door. Hopefully noone would even notice.

I have grown in rented places before and also marijuana plants don't show up as much as people think. They blend in so very nicely.
I had my parents over last summer with 5 6 to 8 foot plants on my deck.
I would get some nice sized pots put a long stake in the middle of it and grow some morning glories up some strings to add camoflauge

sheds are expensive man... can u trust ur friend? i've read a lot of threads here where people got busted by someone they trusted... that shit scares the hell out o me, i don't tell no one!!!

i believe my homeboy can be trusted. hes like a brother, but i did read a thread yesterday where a dude told his sister and she told everyone she knew. Even his moms boyfriend. i dont think he would get me in trouble though.

i was asking these same questions awhile back..

some answers i got were.

tell your landlord you travel for work alot and you'd like to be there when he inspects so you need 1-2 week notice before he can come in. (this obviously only works if you can change the lock on the door.) 1-2 week notice you can clean up and hide your plants.

option 2 got a garage? buy a tall storage cabinet for around $100 at home depot, lowes or somewhere along those lines.. two would be best one veg one flower. and put locks on the doors.

shed in the backyard would work but you may need big time venting/scent control or even AC if it gets hot where you live.

i'd look into the attic first but i guess that might get hot and humid up there as well.

i might try to plant one outside this summer. is it at all possible to plant... and only check it once or twice a summer. then obv more towards the end of flowering?

gl whatever you try. but if you do trust your boy. do you trust him that he won't tell anyone? thats the big thing. not just trusting that he won't narc you out, its people that brag that get caught.

im in the new house now. i got internet this afternoon.

i finally got a good look at the attic. it wont be big enough.
