The plants will show maturity with pre flower pistils coming from the calyx.

That's when I suggest to flip.

Forcing premature flip just doesn't feel right to me. Like a 10 year old that's suppose to have a bicycle and the parents gave him a motorcycle. But that's just my opinion.

Also do you have any pics with the grow lights off flash on?
Lol yes that’s a good way to explain it. I don’t have any pics but I can take them, no problem! So grow lights off then just take the pics with a flash from my phone correct?

WOW THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME ON WRITING THIS BEAUTIFUL THOROUGH RESPONSE! haha, you know what? I just checked and mine has little hairs already, about 2-3 nodes down so I’m guessing she’s pre flower already... oops lol. Probably time to switch it to 12/12 yes? Also what can happen if I veg her for a few more weeks? Will she just automatically go into flower since she’s already in flowers so vegging is now pointless? The reason why I do want to veg her longer is because they say the longer the bigger the plant in veg, the bigger the yield. Not sure on how true this is but before I planted her seed I was planning to veg her 7-8 weeks veg. Did not plan on 5 weeks at all. Any tips or ideas on this? I appreciate it! Love.
You could veg for years yet if a monster plant was your goal. Always great to know what sex the plants are before sticking them in a big finishing pot then find out some are male. I have 9 from seed just around 6 weeks but none of the tiny pre-flowers have proven sex yet. Soon I hope.

As long as you keep the light at 18/6 they'll stay in veg unless they are autoflowering plants. Those will flower under 24/0 light.

There is no rush to flower so you have lots of time to train them to ScroG if you want or you could flip to 12/12 right now if you are eager to get to harvest. Can always shove a plant pole in the pot and tie heavy colas to that if need be. Be prepared for them to double in height if no more but they look like they won't get outrageously tall in flower like a lean and lanky sativa plant will.

Do both plants have hairs? You say they are from seed so even if they are fem seeds there are occasional males.

It's very true that a larger plant will yield more. That's the same for any fruiting plant. Pot size makes a difference too. Bigger roots = bigger fruits is often said tho I use mainly 4gal pots max for my plants.

Those plant look pretty robust and likely to be heavy yielders even if flowered now so it's up to you.

I just noticed your light. Just a couple weeks ago I bought a lightly used 2x4x5'h tent with a smaller version of that light so I had a place to veg my babies while flowering a couple large plants in the main grow room. Mine is totally no name and claims to be 1500W but only pulls 207W from the wall. It is doing a great job vegging my babies so I like it and the price was right. I do my flowering under Hortilux Super HPS bulbs. Have those in 400, 600 and 1000W.

All from seed and a mix of boys and girls. 5 white pots are Nepali Temple and the 4 others are hi-CBD ones called Sebring's Revenge.

I got feminized seeds to save myself some time and heartache haha! After your response, yes I have decided not to flower her yet and wait it out. I do have some vertical space I want to fill as well. But yes both have clear white hairs in between the branch and main stalk. Funny because when I bought the seeds they mentioned it was 70% sativa 30% indica. It’s strain is super silver haze x northern lights. But might have gotten the indica genetics? Someone told me it could be my light and some strains stretch less in LED’s. Not sure how true this is either but they are not the height I expected them to be. Definitely some fat shorties right now lol. But I do like them this way. Easier to tend to when they stretch. And for a tiny asian girl, this strain is working out perfect given my height aha.

My lights are also from amazon I think a no name as well. COB LED 1800 watts. Claims it only pulls 300watts but my electric bill has barely damaged. I live in Cali where electricity is expensive charging 22cents watt/hr. But my bill has only increased around 25-35/ month. Good for my pocket.

Your plants look amazing I have to say! I can’t wait to see how they turn out in flower. I hope to have an army like yours one day but since I started growing, it has inhibited my traveling needs... I can only go on trips no longer than 3 days. I really need to find a way to water my plant while I’m gone so I can at least take a week off. At one point I was thinking attaching some IV bags from the hospital I work at and setting up a drip system

Hello guys, when is the best time to flower? Or what are some indicators you use to know when to start flowering. My girls are 5 weeks in veg phase today. Please help your fellow asian lady out!

Thank you!
You can force flowering when it suits your space but since they are small you might want to wait a few more weeks and train them for a better yield in the meantime. A good rule of thumb I’ve learned here is to flip then when they are about 2/3 the size you want them to be when fully mature. It usually takes about 6 weeks from seed for the average plant to become sexually mature so if you try to force flowers before that their internal trigger can be delayed.

Check out blumats, they water your plants very much the same as an IV drip would but the plants roots sort of pull on the valves so it’s not completely constant. With a 5g bucket reservoir you can leave for a week and your plants are watered automatically. Uses gravity; no power needed.

It will not automatically go to flower. It will only do so when you provide 12 12 light schedule. There no reason not to continue vegging for a larger plant IF you're prepared for it and have experience dealing with larger plants. They require more pruning for instance. As a new grower id advise flowering your plant within a height of 2ft from soil or less. So its more that you want that minimum of sexual maturity but there is no set maximum veg time.

I only repotted those plants from little 3" square nursery pots 10 days ago and it took a week for them to really start taking off. They were really root-bound so I used a bread knife to saw off the bottom half inch of the root balls to get rid of the stringy roots. I do that every time I repot and put a little DynoMyco on the fresh soil and spray some water on that then drop the plant on top, fill around the sides and soak the new pot good with a light dose of nutes. When the roots get pruned they branch out like the plant does when it's topped and fill the whole pot with fine feeder roots. They don't seem to mind one little bit.

My light doesn't say how much it actually uses but I have a litlle power meter I plugged it into to see what it really uses. Just two cooling fans on top and the 5 COBs. The light it gives off has a slight pink tint to it so should flower OK but I'm only going to use it for veg.

These are the only labels on the back of mine and when I opened it up to clean it even the drivers inside just say LED driver. No company name at all.

LEDLables2.JPG

You can see the pink tint on the wall by the LED light. The bigger light up top is a Philips 400W CMH light that runs off my old magnetic HPS ballast and is almost pure white.

I used to grow a lot of sativas and had a nice Kali Mist but it was so intense I would have a panic attack for 15 min if I toked just a bit too much so I crossed it with NL#5 and teh right pheno finished in about 56 -60 days and looked more like an indica but not a short bushy plant. The pure Kali would take up to 14 weeks to finish and was a classic sativa looking plant tho not to scrawny as many sativas can be. Worked killer for my chronic depression/ptsd.

Here's a nice pic I got of a Kali female pre-flower. And some boys too.

like you physically hit them with nuts? which nut do you find works best. eg a walnut vs chestnut?
interesting stuff
i like how if a member posts a pic of themselves and happen to be a hot asian there is not one blurple hate comment.
fascinating.View attachment 4846852
Maybe because it's not a blurple light. I have a smaller version of the same light and it has a faint pink tint but is in no way a blurple. They use COB LEDs.

I try and wait to see pistols before flipping. Provided I have the room to accommodate. That puts me 6-8 weeks veg usually

Who's eyes are closed? If you bother looking the green still shows as green and there is just a pink tint like my light. Under a blurple light the green itself is blurple too.

Whatever.

Jokes are half meant lol but to clear things up my light is not blurple, it’s a COB LED 1800 full spectrum that emits white LED lights (white LED’s are still not a full spectrum light) which is why it’s combined with the RBG LED’s to mimic the sun’s rays making our COB's full spectrum. Studies have shown that plant accelerates growth with a full spectrum light when compared to a plant who only receives just white lights.

Since white lights LED’s are not a full spectrum, and seems like you are a white light only grower then I hope the only white light you're using are incandescent bulbs as that is the only white light that emits a full spectrum.

If you had a scrog setup I would say definitely, but you could probably go a little longer because it looks like you have plenty of vertical space. I'd take a second opinion, and I'm not sure how fast they are growing, but I think you could go a week or two longer. I used to own one of those lights.
Another week, after that it might start to run out of room during flowering
