Indoor drying low humidity? To humidify or not?

Hey all got this dry going and it’s dropping humidity fast.
Day 3 here.
humidity averages: 46%
temp average: 66 degrees
dehumidifier set on 60%

These two outdoor plants are 180 day giants. They got thick buds. I have a fan under buds but have turned that off to slow drying. Question is should I put in humidifier to keep the room at 55%?

Introducing moisture seems counter productive. Mold growth or bud rot.

46RH for drying is a little low, but probably not a deal breaker. It looks like you have not wet trimmed which is good, those leaves will slow down your dry a bit. One advantage of a low humidity like that is less risk of mold, so it's not all bad !

I sometimes dry in winter with the RH dropping much lower than yours. I use the old paperbag trick and place my buds into covered paper bags. The bags breath, but keep the RH around 50-55% which works well for me. Its an old school trick, but it works.

I don't use a humidifier as I'm worried about problems they may cause. (cleanliness etc..). I don't know a lot about them, but from what I've read, they can cause their own problems too. (others can chime in here if I'm way off about humidifiers.)

Nice looking harvest ! What strain?

Thanks for the tips.
Barney's Farm Blue Gelato 41 and a Dos Si Dos. The Blue Gelato was a strong plant and I would grow again. I put a warm air humidifier on low set to 50%.
Will move it around the room and keep a low fan on the floor. RH is 50%. 4 more days till trim.

Man, I've tried countless strains from the dispenseries here in Wash DC and Do Si Dos has always been great. How strong was the odor during flower?

The reason I decided agains humidifiers (I bought a few but dont use them). Is the fact that bad things can grow in the water if you dont keep them clean. The last thing I want to do is sprinkle mold and who knows what else around my buds. (just me being overly careful) Anyway, best of luck with your cure!

You may need a better humidifier and if you dont already have a 3-5 stage reverse osmosis filter that would be a great investment as well.

I never use a dehumidifier in my drying room. Sometimes if I want the fry to go past 10 days I will introduce a humidifier to keep it at 60%

You want air movement, but don't hit them directly with the fan. I would humidify the room. Or you can chop them up while they are still a tad moist, throw them in a bucket and burp them down to the proper range.

Just drop a cap of 3% peroxide in there and keep it out of the light.
