6500 k for vegg, and 2700 k for flower, but u have to keep them real, REAL close so they can get something out of those lights ! have used those ones also for the whole grow, first time indoor ! worked out great m but i always kept the as close as i could get without burning anything ! if u have a nice airflow and fan blowing then u should be fine :hump:

you should get a few 48" ballast, like screw one to the back of your closet vertically so its standing. and another one for the right side of your closet. the maybe a few more...
look at the lumen rating for the lights. the sun puts out 10,000 per square foot an a scorching summer day. may i suggest using HPS or MH lights. a 400w hps light costs about $15. but a ballast cost about $80. get an oscillating fan about $20, point it at the lights. buy a light timer about $5.

it would be a good idea to have some kind of vent too, so the room doesn't become an oven, acceptable temps are 90 and below, any higher will stunt it, and require you to use less fertilizer. also tac up some tinfoil so it covers the walls and the ceiling. or paint the closet flat white, no gloss, gloss is bad. also cover the back of your closet door with tin foil.

get a 5gal bucket or whatever your gonna plant them in fill it with dirt, preferably without slow release fertilizer. make sure your pots can drain though too, i messed up once lol.
and the spectrum of your lights... generally people say 2700k lights are good for flowering and 6500k for veg. but listen the more spectrum you have the BETTER. get full spectrum and daylight, and 2700k(white) bulbs. mix n match seriously, you will be rewarded with a lot of crystals. also when using fertalizer use it like every 3 waterings. and for the love of god dont mix it to full strength! think of it as poison... it is 100% SALT based. this will save you from many troubles as a begginer. veg with 24/7 light. then flower with 12hr on and 12hr of darkness

also water it when it needs water. when the top 1/4 inch of soil is dry, then water. i had some plants outside in gallon jugs and they only require water every 3-4 days.

No, he's talking about using HID lighting, while you're talking about fluorescent. Looked through a couple of your other threads, you seem to start a new one for each different question, you'd be fine just adding new questions to the same thread. In your space a small HID light could work or you could use CFLs or tube fluorescents. If you decide to use, an HID system will put out a lot of heat that you need to be prepared for. Use google and the search function to look up things before asking questions, most questions have been asked on here hundreds of times and you can probably find the answer with a couple minutes of reading.

One thing you may want to consider before growing in your closet is, where are you growing? Are you in an apartment, do you live with parents/roommates, is it a rental or do you own your house? Where you grow will have a big impact on what you can do. If you're in an apartment for instance, it would be unwise to get a 400w HPS/MH then cut a hole in a wall/ceiling to vent hot air. If you live with your parents or with roommates smell will be a big concern for you, as well as stealth. All things to consider.

The standard answer for any fluorescent light grow around these forums is, "Get as much light on it as possible." The wattage isn't what matters anyway, so you won't find the answer to your question. I've read that you want at least 100w per plant a few inches away from it.

I don't understand how dude was talking shit at all, I really didn't read into that. He was just being matter-of-fact, and keeping his cool when being replied to like that is enviable in my opinion. I really would not recommend fluorescent tube lighting, I've done the math every which way and literally couldn't find an excuse to use em, except for clones and sick plants (in which case I opt for convenient CFL's anyway). That's just my twopence, but yeah as another guy said you just need to go for "as much light as possible", and maybe arrange sidelighting if you can do that due to the low penetration of tubes.

u can grow fucking good dank with fluros, just have to keep them real close, and use in also cfls hanging all around there as well...If done right u can have a harvest just like using a 400w hps, believe me, i have done it, and this fluro grow was my first indoor setup ever ! FLUROS WORK ! dont let some crap get you, listen to experience :hump:

I have grown with fluoros as well. I know what you can get, but I'm a commercial grower. When I pick out my equipment, I look at efficiency, and frankly, I don't see why anyone with a limited pocketbook wouldn't. Usually people get fluoros for saving on electric or not having to deal with heat issues, but both of those are backended because to achieve the same power as an HID, the same problems come up. I know a lot of people who would recommend a mini (100W, 150W) HPS over the fluoros.

I realize I'm getting misconstrued as a fluoro hater; I'm really not that. They really do work. Just not very efficiently, and with a good little bit of extra labour put into 'em. However on the other side, while my words are getting misconstrued, "grow space"... You just started your statement with "this fluro grow was my first indoor setup ever", and ended it with "listen to experience"... You DO see the irony in that, right? I have a special affinity for CFL's, I have used them in every stage of growth and have varied results depending on the usage, but that just goes toward the fact that I have a LOT more experience growing indoors than you, in every form of media.

yes, yes..but still, first grow, fluros, got some really nice stuff from widows.. i was happy ! i used them because i got them free, and thought, why not, u gotta start form somewhere ! even a grower who has many, many indoors under hes belt, said that:"Holy, shit, this is from fluros, gotta get some lol"
so yes, my experience form fluros is very good, and i use them in vegg still, with some supplemental cfls as well...

if the dudes has them and have no money to buy a good hid lighting, then grow, and see yourself dude...happy growing...:peace:
