I am doing an indoor closet grow, but I was just wondering if it would be ok to put my plants outside in the sun for 3 or 4 hours a day and the move them back into the closet when the sun goes down.
Indoor grow question.

Yes, but no. Bringing indoor plants outside and then back inside is the #1 way to get a bad pest or disease infestation. THe outside has environmental checks and balances to be sure no one species over populates an area. If lets say some bugs from outside get into your plants, then you are bringing a new nest of problems into your grow tent.

have you switched light scedule to 12/12?
