Indoor grow room lighting

Hey guys I have a question about lighting. Well I built a 10x10 room and plan to do 60 plants in 3 gallon buckets. I was wondering how much/many lighting should I use? For vegging I was going to use cfl and for flowering I was thinking about switching to HID. Or should i go HID all the way? This is going to be my first indoor so any input would be good.

so you have 4 - 5x5 areas, you will need at least a 600w per 5x5; 1000w would be better. I'd go hid all the way with a space that large, with cfl's you'd need over 200

Do you guys have any suggestions on which HID I should use for the 4-5x5 areas? I've been looking at a couple but don't really know which ones I should get.

If I had that much space, and had money to spare, I would go with three or four 600s. And I don't think you will be able to grow 60 plants in that space.. I would grow 15 plants so that way I would have room for a dehumidifier and air conditioning.

I was thinking about the t5 for veg too. so my electric bill won't be so high. But how many t5 would I need to cover the room??

Try sketching it out.

You need at least a cubic foot for each plant.

You need at least a foot and a half around your plants to be able to prune/LST, water, etc.

You need an area for mixing/storing nutes

You need an area where you can access your fans, dehumidifier/Air conditioner.

Ok so I got this. 10x10 room with 4 5x5 area and 12 buckets in one 5x5 area. 4 600w hid to cover one 5x5. Does this sound doable?

most plant's I have seen on RIU take at least one square foot for canopy. 12 inches is really not that big. I'm looking at a tape measure right now. that would mean you would have to reach 2 and half feet across to mess with your plants. how long are your arms?

Is there a reason you want to pack so many plants tightly together? What method are you planning on using? Are you scrogging? Pruning lower branches?

See I would like the drawing I provided, because It gives me space to move around the plants and allow them to bush out. But I am far from an expert. Just throwing my idea in.

Yea that's true. Me and a buddy of mine are doing 25 each together and trying to make it work out in this 10x10 room. The setup in the drawing looks perfect, but there won't be enough room.

mmk. You could always do rows. Rows of 2 plants x 8 plants. That will allow you three rows with minimal room for walking. 48 plants

need 6-9 600watt lights. You wont have any floor space left for dehumidifier and only 12 inches of walk space.

Yea that does sound all cramped up. So now I'm thinking 3 rows of 3 per 5x5 area. I'm pretty sure ill have enough room walk space and dehumidifier. What do you think?

if 3x3 then you would have plenty of room. That would be 36 plants. At least 4 lights. If I had the money, I would buy two 600watt horizontals per 3x3. Then you will get overlap.
