You are getting slime back, because you are flushing slime back into your rez. and feeding it. Make sure your medium drains properly, so that it will dry out between flood cycles. H2O/H2O2 flush your plants for 3-5 days (if you are cycling 1 - 2 times a day.) And then:

Choose a nutrient system, and stick with it. I use GH, others prefer FF, others Humboldt County's Own Nutrients, etc. Get your nutes in order, and then stick to it. Start with 1/4 strength, and gradually work to full strength. Make sure you are PHing your nutes! Don't just PH them when you mix them, either ... Go back to your rez and check it again in a couple days.

You should only be working with one change at a time. Make sure you aren't locking out your nutrients, with either too much/little of something, or PH. Disturb your reservoir. Air stones will keep it moving around... Make sure it's not getting light, otherwise you'll be feeding that slime, and providing it the tools for photosynthesis... Also, try to keep that nute rez. at around 60-65 degrees.

You'll need more lights, and closer... The more, the merrier.
