Indoor LED Grow 2011

yeah this will be the first full LED grow ive seen personally too. they definitely compare! he had them a lil too close in the beginning so they didnt stretch too much..they are only about a foot tall. im gonna use them on my next aeroflo grow, and we'll see how they turn out.

i like the idea of not having to use fans, and worry about where to exhaust heat..and if i can get the same results using 600W and no fans over 1000W + fans, im all over it!
X2! Lights seem a bit pricy to me, but if they work well,, the price will come down in time(?).

yah but look at the electric savings..... they draw a lot less wattage and put out only the PAR peaks that the plant truly needs instead of using spectrum's that are just creating heat. Plus the quality doesn't degrade the same way as replaceable bulbs.... with a 100k hr lifespan ill take the led any day of the week. I plan on throwing down for an additional 600w to the current setup i have. His lights aren't the only quality leds on the market but his are good. I personally use the blackstar series from lighthouse hydro and they are approx a dollar per watt, which is WAY lower. Our led group has seen good results with these so i feel confident to give them my recommendation if you don't have the cash to spend on pricier panels.

LEDs have a lot going for them. Like heat, stealth, low operating cost, etc.
Being expensive, they'd need to last and work well to recoup the initial out lay with usage savings.

But still, I need to see some good grows with LEDs ONLY before I jump.

Not meaning any disrespect what-so-ever,, I just need to see a few to believe. (that's why I'm bookmarked to this thread - to see):clap::weed:

Hmmm, Interesting.
To me, some of them look a bit stretched in a strange sort of way.
I mean they have leaves, But they look small and the stalk looks tal for the leaf structure. That's judging from comparing to my grows with HIDs & CFLs.
Granted, I'm used to looking at trained plants. These look like "straight grows", which is fine. I'm simply stating how it looks to me in comparison. (I've not done a straight grow in a long time)

These;

,,, are what I'm looking at as being a bit sparce for my way of seeing.

Am I missing something? They look like thy've been defoliated and not trained (what I'm used to seeing is all).

I'm soooo glad you're not thinking I'm bustin chops. I'm asking because I have a real interest in the performance of these lights. :weed:

Thanks,

thats still kinda up in the air ... im looking at several different options right now lol....1st i originally was going to run a basic drip system just the flood tray on the table res underneath all that etc.etc. BUTTT ive ran into a problem with that being as the if i were to keep that setup i would already be close to 3 ft off the ground and in a little room only 7ft high that leaves me with little room for height under the LED lights seeing as they dont recommend putting the LEDs closer then 18 inches or 1 1/2 feet from the tops of the plants..so with that being said im pretty much limited to about 3 foot tall ladies unless i wanna try pushing it ... 2nd option was to fill the whole tray with plants about 25 of them and go 3 feet that way and flower it all out which would have a good yield i think but ive let to much time pass to really run with that idea unless i use the girls i have now as mothers and take clones and fill the tray that way but thats WAY to much time lol.... 3rd Idea i have is to scrap the whole drip setup and build a 5 gallon DWC setup and run about 8 plants in the room to a final size close to 5ft. well trained bushy beautiful women :).. one perk about that final idea is that i can get a good amount of clones of off them before they go into flowering for my outdoor crop

Hey there, Stoney, you are becoming my new hero because I am thinking about buying the same grow panels. Do you like that particular brand so far? Also, how many of those panels do you think i'd need for a room measuring 11 feet by 11 feet? would three do it?

im actually loving them so far .. theyve been loads easier to use then HID lighting that im use to using ... ive had no problems with heat really at all just a simple exhaust fan works wonders and keeps me right were i need to be unlike HPS lighting where i had to setup an a/c to keep my room temps down running my bill rocket high ... im running (2) in a room a little smaller then half your projected size but i feel i have ample amount of light so running 3 has the potential to work for you im not sure how well the coverage really would be ... they are rated to cover an area of 50 sq ft during veg and 25sq ft during flower so if i were you id run the 3 for veg and maybe some CFLs for supplement light and maybe a low wattage HPS or CFLs during flowering to help boost your performance..
this is my first round using just LED lighting so ill let you know how its coming along and keep everyone updated on my progress
