Induce Flowering with Fertilizer?

Is it possible to induce flowering a little earlier with the use of fertilizer? I realize that the reduction in light is what actually causes flowering but could i start introducing my flowering nutes, before daylight drops below 12 hours to jumpstart the process? Could i start flower nutes a month before 12hr daylight? Aside from over fertilizing problems, would doing this have any other negative impact?

The flowering nutes are just the type of food the plant needs when it is in the flowering stage. It is not a hormone changer that makes it flower automatically

Thanks for the prompt response.
I was aware that the flowring nutes are used because they are the proper ratio of nutes, that the plant needs when flowering. I just thought i had remembered reading that if you give a plant those nutes late in the grow season, it could trick the plant into starting the flowering cycle before the light is reduced to 12hr.

aside from bringing plants inside or covering them, does anyone know of anyway to help get the flowering process started early? I'm in northern US and 12hr daylight doesnt start until mid september and frost is not unheard of in October. So, I was hoping to find a way to get them started flowering towards end of august or beginning of sept in order to avoid the fears of frost.

Thanks in advance
