the cinnamon killed ALL the fungus that the gnats (yes, im positive they were gnats)ate. it took a couple of days before the bugs were all gone but after that i saw 0. plus my box and the room its in smelled delicious for weeks.

..and wouldnt ladybugs eat/shit on my plants?

lady bugs are carnivores but they along with any other pest controlling bug should only be used out doors or in a larger room, not a cab or stealth grow, good to hear about the cinnamon, first grow in a couple of years and first soil grow since about 2 years before that, i just started but i know it won't be long until i start seeing the little fuckers.

lol they are not male betta fish...the plants will do the best they can under their growing circumstances...close together or not...they may be a lil stunted...but lotsa peeps grow micro plants and multiple plants per container successfully to get the yield they want...

I agree that it won't kill them but one pot per plant is much better in that you can care for and troubleshoot each one individually and much easier to cull males.

Hot Shot No Pest Strips. 5 or 6 bucks a piece at Wal-Mart. Works like a charm. Leave one in there for a week or so. Bye bugs.

As far as soil goes I think I would rather do the cinnamon thing, I don't like getting chemicals any where near my girls.

Unless someone plans on smoking the leaves, then I wouldn't worry about it. In his case, those plants got a ways to go before they get any sort of bud formation. That's why I always put one in for a week about halfway through veg so I don't have to worry about bugs during flower.

Would I use a No Pest Strip deep into flowering? Probably not. But by putting one in during veg like I do, I never have to worry about it.

I'll stick with the strips that are guaranteed to get the job done.

As far as chemicals near the soil... Are you kidding me? Do you realize how much shit farmers dump on their soil? Unless you grow all your own food organically, you're consuming so much wacky shit that the little bit of chemicals that may or may not get into your soil from the strips is laughable.

the reason I said "as far as soil goes" is because I don't think anyone will be dumping cinnamon in their hydro system, but come to think about it I've never had a bug problem with hydro lol

the pest strips are a kill all for me. put them out in veg after couple weeks and leave them until about halfway through flower. plants are far enough along by that point that pests dont usually hurt them.

I don't worry about pests hurting them, but I have my cab in my closet and I don't want the bastards in my room

man this box is only 2 feet tall, 16 in wide and 9 inches deep. very small i need to plant one female in there.as far as bugs in soil go id rather use cinnamon than anything else becuase its so available and takes such a small amount. it worked really well against fungus gnats but i believe thats because it killed the fungus in the soil. so its questionable if it would be a good defense against anything else.

Indoors that's pretty much the only bug you'll get unless you pull a huge no no and use soil from outside. And i meant how deep is your planter lol.

yeah i thought it was perfect for this method when i found it at home depot for $1.50!!

In the future you may want to get something a bit deeper though.
