This is a noob question... but I have to say it,

I was researching my potential 400w perpetual cabinet grow and I stumbled apon a cheap 6" Aero Flo 240 HIGH CFMs inline Duct Air Booster Fan

Since this is cheaper than a, say a vortex inline fan, can this be used to cool a 400w cooltube. or do I need a true inline fan with a higher cfm? (assuming that I attach a carbon filter to the fan)

Could someone clarify to me whats the difference between a air booster fan and an inline fan? And would someone clarify if the air booster fan will be enough for a 400w hps cool tube (with carbon filter)

if you are going to attach a carbon filter to it id get more cfm's just besause, better safe then starting over?

Thats not the fan you need. you need this:

Alright thank you for your guys feedback. I found a nice 6" inline fan (vortex) for $104 (shipping/handling) so I think that is my best bet. I've also decided to use a 250 cool tube hps instead of 400w... so I know this inline fan WILL control the heat!

dude i have a 125 cfm 6" duct fan to cool off my 400w hps (well 2 i should say) and i can still get the light 6 inches from the canopy with no problems. the combined cost was 55 dollars. You should see if you can get that 400w going...

Yes I might try that with my 250w HPS because it will only set me back $40 (250cfm air booster) instead of finding out that the I could have had the same cooling effect as the $100 vortex. Although my biggest worry will be the change in air speed/removal if a small carbon filter is added onto the end.

whats the CFM on the 6" inline fan (vortex) for $104?
