A few shots of another way to grow our beloved plant.

If anyone is interested in this method------I will try and answer specific questions-----but I am to lazy to post a "HOW TO".

Hey nice to see you posting a different project, looks interesting. Plants certainly look great. I got a few questions out of curiosity:

- How many sqft of space does the entire setup require?
- How many sqft would the canopy half if rolled out into a flat surface?
- How many plants, how much light and how much dry weight? (i.e. was it worth it setting this up and will you continue to use it?)

- What's the fabric at the top of the tubes? Looks like leather in the tubefittings pic.

Hey Sativied,

In a 22' x 22' garage split down the middle with a wall and door 15000 btu ac in each 11' x 22' room. The tubes are 6" x 10'.

upper tubes lowered to run flat? around 5'or 6' x 10' with enough room to run around. U hit on one of the principles behind this madness-----how to get all the plant canopy equal distance from the lights-----of course without reflectors you'll loose some intensity.

Plant numbers? start 12/12 I like 4' to 5' tall plants (4 or 5 plants each tube)-----don't like running mothers----just take cuttings right before 12/12. Running 3 x 1K in the pic in those light tubes on a mover. Pulled 5.5 lbs dried bud weight (60 day finisher, critical kush). I can live with that.

"(i.e. was it worth it setting this up and will you continue to use it?) " Have often ask myself that question-----it was fun as hell setting this thing up-----just to see for myself. I would love to see a tunnel of green (small plants perhaps more tubes).

the panels are vinyl from the fabric store with 1" wide velcro sewed on (mistake by not using black at first). You're not limited by holes in the tubes and very easy to get plants in and out-----easy clean up also. Another option those panels give ------ you can put the plants in at an angle then train the limbs into the trellis.

Would I do it again? depends on the space and many other factors.

Nice to hear from you. If I didn't answer your questions sing out and I will try again.

Oh nice, must be handy to check roots as well. Something that's missing in my system although I don't seem to have the need for it. I can't say cleaning up is a p.i.t.a. either (especially with memories of soil :)) , i.e. I pull out all my roots through a single bud site (see image) but I will definitely keep it in mind if I ever going to upgrade/improve.

An acceptable amount of yield for the lights used but I was kinda hoping to see a huge difference over regular horizontal. I can totally imagine setting it up is rewarding by itself though, seems like a fun project.

Just happened to run into a tunnel of green pic yesterday, google images search for 'vertical Picture0023.jpg' (to avoid linking to another grow forum).

Thanks for your pic and referenced pic-----what I had in mind when first starting this madness. The limitation I c in most vert shows is the accessibility to the inner canopy and the lighs and running the lights on a mover/s--------I don't have that problem being able to slide the tubes apart.

My sprayers stop up rarely but it happens------easy to get to with the panels.

I liked your comment about soil (which I have no experience)

Yea, I was hoping for 3-4 per 1K when problems worked out------perhaps possible with sog tunnel. Wonder what grams per watt they pulled in those 420 mag pics?

Figured I post this one here, but is also in reply to the PM a while back.

Ran into a picture today that showed something familiar:

Ended up at https://www.omegagarden.com/index.php?content_id=175&product_id=1

It's the Volksgarden and has popped up several times over the years here at RIU. Even a journal but most pics are missing:

Looks like the guy from https://www.rollitup.org/t/just-wait-till-you-see-this-amazing-and-unique-setup.824075/ wasn't so original after all.
