Interesting: rockwool comparison.

6x6x4 vs 4x4x4
Very interesting. These plants are 5 weeks from germination. Everything the same except rockwool size. Both from seed. While the slightly smaller seedling was planted in the 4x4 they were MUCH closer in size as seedlings. The two plants in 4x4 are both smaller than the 3 plants in the 6x6. I figured it would matter some but not all that much.

Would be great to see the same experiment with clones! I am running a SOG in 10cm rockwool for the first time and I gather they are ‘big enough’ for a 1-week veg period from rooted clone (running 70 plants on a 120x240cm F&D table). But would be great to see if there’s a difference with 15cm ones.

The more roots you can get the healthier the plant will be and the yields will be bigger . Ive never understood why some people want to restrict the growth of the roots with some of the growing technique used

Depending on the situation the 4x4s can work just fine. For more plants and a shorter veg times the are great.
