Internodes are shortening

i put my ladies under my 400 watt metal halide and all internode growth has almost ceased. the plants only producing foliage is this because of too much nitrogen?

im gonna go out on a li here and asme you bought400 watt metal halide knowinat the coole liht spectrum is going to more en likely produc a shorter, troer, and busier plant.

yes im using the metal halide for the veg and im about to go pick up a 400 watt hortilux hps
and my concern was just the fact that ALL of the leaves are touching, there is no main stem growth inbetween, all of the new leaves popping out are just completely touching.
you don't think that will be any sort of problem

Raise the light.

As the distance from the light to the plant increases the light intensity will decrease exponentially. In this way you can purposely stretching you plant to allow buds to fill out more. Read more on controlling stretch below
