Adding details for anyone interested...
-4000k 80cri 1212 x 16 @ 12.5w is unusable for any of the plants I tried (cauliflower, tomatoes, greens, herbs, peppers). Wilty bleached out barely any growth.
-3500k 80cri cxb3590 x 8 @ 25w same results, tomatoes do okay.
-2700k 90cri 1212 x 16 @12.5w all plants look healthy but growth is not great.
-viparspectra “full spectrum” 100x3w epi @160w total mothafuckin jungle.
My logic for growing veggies indoors: we live in the Rocky Mountains, where there is less oxygen in the air and it is extremely dry. Our grocery store produce in the winter is terrible and expensive. Running the furnace all winter dries out the air even more and uses up more precious oxygen inside our house.
By placing grow tents near the beds of everyone in the house and running them only at night, we can solve all these problems at once. Basically little oxygenating humidifying space heaters that produce vegetables as a byproduct.
Anyway, I placed an order for 10 of the hortilum chips on Mauser. Would be interested in at least that many if you can get a better price before they arrive Dec 5th.
Also if anyone wants some lightly used cxb3590 cd bin passive engines I’m going to be trying to sell those (the 1212’s too if anyone is interested, though those are amateur soldered without holders in groups of 4/8 on undersized heatsinks that require active cooling)
