i got ahold of the citizen gen 8 chips, which looked good on paper
they still werent close to the luminus (disclaimer: these are 1212s, 1818s would be a more fair fight but i would expect the same 2-3% increase in an 1818 gen 6>gen 8, which would still be less efficient (and more expensive) than the most excellent luminus cxm22 gen4)
Black Friday thru Cyber Monday
20% off sitewide + free shipping in the continental US with code automatically applied at checkout
adding a bunch of products as well including assemblies, kits, and full fixtures from HLG (also all on sale). If you dont see it, please ask, we are authorized dealers for HLG, Luminus, Citizen, and MeanWell and can usually get any of their products
basically a modular diablo setup, you can see 3 of them here occupying half of a 5x9 tent as a "poor man's Scorpion." (cobs on the other side, as you can see in foreground.). The driver is remote in an electrical room 20' away and its 11A are wired in with 12/2 romex. Kind of a ghetto wiring job but it was a beta test
This hedge is gonna be interesting to harvest. i grew them (too) big and defoliated them several times. That is Black Jack from Dark Heart Nursery coming up on day 40. the uniform coverage of these boards saved my ass on canopy distance.
Right now those are priced at $375 which comes out to $300 shipped with the black friday sale. will probably settle at $350 after the sale is over (it was easier to make the whole site 20% off than put all the individual stuff on sale.
thats technically above their spec but its done all the time. only the positive terminal on the first cob sees over 150V. I personally wouldnt worry about 4 cobs. if 5 id def use ideal

Hey if ou are interested in the cxm-22 gen4 i would look into the cxm-22-hm gen3 it output slightly less umol/s than the gen 4 but it has a spectrum more optimized for plant growth, i just build a large cob array with those.

Those 2 will go in a 4x8, there was 2X 1000W MH/HPS before in there but the power bill was stupid so with those light im getting better coverage with 200W saving per light, i calculatred that by changing the light in 6 years they will be paid off just by the power saving cost.
Added the UVB solacure 18W tube on the light, should help raise a little the THC.

Hmm well i dont have a wiring diagram but i can explain you what i did, each set of 4 cob has its own transformer of 240W, i only need 200W but thast the best quality value i could find.
4 cob are wired in parallel, so brought the 4 cob wire together, 4 black negative together, 4 red positive together and plug in my transformer, i than use my multimeter and measure the voltage coming out of my transformer and adjust it to where it needs to be to get 50W on my chip.

Looking great, just wondering, how high do you keep your lights to avoid burn? Seems so powerful but wondering if it's the aero that allows the plant to use that energy so quickly and not light burn. Your roots look amazing. I have whitish yellow, not as white in my dwc but may be nute buildup. Thanks for sharing, impressive journal.

Thanks, its my first indoor grow so im still learning.
Im thinking to keep the light about 2 feet over the plants, i am building a pulley system with a small hoist to adjust the light heights with a button than secure with ratchet rope.
I dont think aero needs more light, i just wanted to build a replacement for 2000WMH/HPS, so now i have 1600W LED instead, less heat as well.
hey @CobKits I have 4 older CXA3070's that i have passive heat sinks for them,, they used to be driven on single drivers that had No dimming, I would like to get a new single driver for the cxa cobs, that has dimming,,, can you recommend a driver that you sale on your web page please,,,
Thank you

hey, long time no see,, hows things,, good to see you up and around,,, I am using that very driver on a set of 4 citi 1212s at 4000k,, I have heard that driver will work on the CXB's,, but i read a few things that threw doubt in my head that the same driver would work with the CXA's,, i almost purchsed one on cobkits web page today, i figured i would wait for a response , I did read someplace that the hlg185 1400 would drive 4 CXA's at 50 watts each for 200 watts, ???
