Investment?

That's the idea. I've got space and the know-how but been holding off on spending more - first it's hard to spend a lot up front, second I'm trying to walk the line between spending shit tons on gadgetry vs going cheap and not having flowers
Dont go cheap. Just put all the necessary money up front and do it right or don't do it at all. The most expensive partm is the initial investment.

very good advice!

cheap electrical equipment is the groundwork for disaster btw.... never get substandard or cheaply manufactured parts.... sometimes saving a few $ could actually be putting you at higher risk for a fire...

I should clarify :)
I meant cheap as in type of lighting, media, hydration options etc...the actual putting together of these things wouldn't be poorly done. I'm a bit anal. My concern is more like...I don't want to be that asshole at the golf course with platinum clubs and a nifty swing gauge if grandpa's rusty clubs would do just fine. It's easy to get into over-spending on stuff you don't really need.

So, I'm trying to get an idea of a "normal" total investment and then plan from there

Lousy advice.. (although I know you meant it in a more 'don't do things cheaply' kind of way which I do understand',., do things right the first way,.. I get it.

Yet...

While I admit it might not be enough for some folks, any time you can grow all the high grade grass you need for personal consumption for about 100 bucks, just do it..

You can do a lot in a small space, some poster board, and cheap lights.

A daily thing, month in and month out, producing ounces that would add up to thousands over the amount and time.. for about 100 bucks.

Tossing money at technology does not a good grower make. Sometimes it is about doing with what you have, and making it work. I could not of been happier for 100 clams.. What more could a guy like me want? I only do this for me. this is EASY and cheap.. maybe 8-10 bucks a month in electricity. The same lights have lasted 3 years worth of nearly perpetual harvests.. they have many more to go.. although I did lose two over the years.. I replaced them at Albertsons.

Anyone who wants to grow, should grow. Any grow is a good grow. Anyone on a budget, can probably scrap up enough to start a legitimate grow.

Just one guys thoughts.. I just hate seeing people with little money buying other peoples grass when they can do it themselves even better often, for almost free..

I spent $580 initially, Cfls for veg then 120watt LED for flower and I get about 5 high THC(over28%) ounces every 2 months plus the butter from the leaves for some bomb ass cookies. Nutes are up to your taste. I love earth juice and a little nirvana and bud candy. I only grow for myself and my bestest buddies.

Random question(also, new so don't kill me here) -
How much have you spent/invested on your grow operation? I'm a single plant kinda gal but looking @ going bigger and wanted some kind of idea about $$...

ETA how many ladies do you have the care and feeding of, for that amount of money?

Small perpetual CFL grow (2 plants flowering & 2 vegging) £140 and some labor.
