Is 8/16 or 10/14 at the end of flower effective?

I am curious if changing from 12/12 to shortening the light period has any affect on speeding up the ripening process. I am pushing 9 weeks on some Big Bud and these girlie are still throwing out new growth.
I am trying to finish these so I can clear my bloom room for my Fuct 8 week SOG grow with NFT grouped tubes.
Anyone play with this light cycle and actually see results?

I've never experimented with different light cycles myself. The hormones that control flowering are always present in the plant; it is light that breaks the hormone down so when the plant is receiving less light it begins to respond to the higher level of flowering hormone. You may see the onset of flowering quicker if you go with 10/14 but if it were me I would dial it back to 12/12 as soon as it starts flowering. 12/12 is sufficient to induce flowering but you still need as much light as you can get to produce a lot of bud.

I tried it, dropped to 10/14 for the last few weeks of a grow. Didn't seem to make any difference but I didnt have a control plant. (one that I didn't do it to)
