I got a pH test kit from an aquarium when I first started, it measures from 6.0 to 7.6 but not all of the points in between (6.0, 6.4, 6.6, 6.8, 7.0, 7.2, 7.6)
Yea, it goes up in .2 increments. The one that I got from walmart about 12 years ago had a color chart to go by. I have a meter now. Actually, they still have the same one because I saw it the other day buying airstones. It may have gone to 7.6

We are probably thinking of the same test kit, I picked mine up from wal-mart a couple years back as well
I moved up to a hanna pH meter myself, much easier

I pull .8 per watt all year long in my room at 85. Plenty of ventilation is the key. Outside in Hawaii everyday is 85 and at night 70. May be strain depend but my bubbas do fine

85 is a great temp if you have good air transfer in and out. I don't buy into the whole 78 is best notion. If people say run 85 with co2 enrichment, then Im gonna run it with just good air flow! I have a 10k AC in this space and can set the temp wherever I want, and I set it for 85!
