Is a newspaper pot lining safe?

I'm transferring my autos from the smaller pots to my 10Ls and i was deliberating if it would be ok to line the bottom of the pots with newspaper to prevent soil leakage and perhaps help drainage, would there be any adverse chemical effects from the ink in the newspaper to the plant?

Just make sure you use the comics section. The front page might depress them. Then somebody will tell you to add CalMag to counteract the newspaper.

They've all been lined now with page 3 so that should cheer them up a bit.
