Is a Tropical UVB lamp used for reptiles suitable for indoor growing?

Maybe you guys can answer this question for me, because no one else seems to know. I've got a single plant growing, and the light we've got on it now is a R.Zilla Tropical 15WT 25 UVB fluorescent light (which is the light currently used over my girlfriend's gecko enclosure). The light seems to keep the live plants in the gecko enclosure already thriving without any problems. Of course, I'm not sure what exactly the plants are, and neither is she.

No it's not. But it is close. Get the UVA bulb for fish that will be better. Reptiles need heat( UVB ) plants need lumens UVA.

Ah, I wasn't sure what the difference was on that. If it's a single plant will it be male or female and how can I make it female cause I want to smoke.

You can't make a plant male or female. If it's a non fem seed then you have about a 50/50 shot of it being female. During the end of a plants life cycle if it hermies you have a chance to get feminized seeds, but you can't just make a plant from the get go female.

Alright, thank you. Someone had told me otherwise before that you can ensure that it's female with giving it a certain amount of light. But then, there's a lot of conflicting info out there.

You can't change sex. But you can stress it out to herm. So male will be the best you can hope for if you try to change sex

It will work for a plant in veg. I might be wrong but think it's the 2700k needed for flower. I'm hungover so not on my game rite now. Lol

I read an article where a man was saying that a plants trichromes are to help it block out uv along with lots of other things. He was saying that if you increase the uv in flowering this will increase the amount of crystals try adding it close to one side of your tent and see if u notice more crystals forming on that side. I wouldn't use it as a grow light but if I had one would defo add it in about half way through flowering and see if it makes a difference.

T5 lights would be you best bet if you dont want to piss her off. Many different sizes to get and in most apps you can't use to much that will over power your braker. And is a cooler (heat) way in a small area. I got 2 2 foot mothers growing under a 2bulb 2 foot T5. There happy as hell.

I'm trying UVB with this run as supplemental lighting. Seems to have increased trichs..not a ton btw. I use hps. T5s might be good for you.
