IS china threatening us

Numbers don't mean what they used to these days. Technology reigns supreme
I understand the sentiment, but numbers have always mattered, and they always will.

Especially when you're talking about a work force for the production of war materials.

We are very busy, screwing over China and they know it. China is not our enemy however. We are joined at the hip by borrowed Gold.
China is fucking destroying us financially and under the current inept
U.S administration it has only gotten worse. They are by far our biggest threat. Busch got played by the Chinese and Obama is enthusiastically giving them the rest of our jobs and factories while we continue to support there fraudulent currency. Wars are won with money and a strong manufacturing base with these two things technology is never far behind. China will pass us up soon enough if things don't change

And how do you figure THEY are destroying you financially?
By purchasing Treasuries?

PS if you really want to blame an American President for opening the door to China, try Nixon (Feb. 21, 1972) ;)

china is destroying the american economy, deliberately and with malice aforethought, the same way a casino destroys compulsive gamblers, and coke dealers destroy addicts, by enabling the vice of endless debt which to washington has become addicted.

unless we hold an intervention, the crackheads in washington will sell our tvs, our PS3's and our stereos for just one more hit of that sweet sweet debt.

meanwhile china is laughing all the way to the bank with not a care that the money they are taking was stolen from we, the american people. it all spends the same for them, and as long as we keep letting junkies handle our finances, how can we really complain if these addicts continue to exercise the same poor judgement they have been demonstrating for over 100 years?

China's financial guts will spill first. Just like the Soviets. You can only over lend, then run out of gold. You cannot ever borrow too much, if you are the USA. We borrow their money to protect their oil.

We hold the Aces. We have the Benjamins. The world currency dog. We have China gold. We borrow. We don't lend our gold. If we Care. We will pay them back.

But, maybe we just say fuck it, some day, and we freeze their assets. BOOM.

You don't see the gore on floor. It ain't us.

We could fix their goose tomorrow, and they know it.

Let me just ask this?

Who's the leader of the club that is made for you and me?

M I C K E Y M O U S E - still very respected

You see, the world is in a fueling transition. We have a Plenitude of shale fuels. And there is more methane hydrate, in the deep oceans, than we will ever need, And all we have to say is fuck it.

Protect your own oil, China, We are out. And maybe we will get back to paying T-bills. But, not today.
Ya'll better be nice and come back tomorrow.

We run this conflict. We could bury them in moon debris and they know that. We are the only country that could say fuck it. Moon bombardment it is. A lot less messy than nukes. Anybody nukes, get the rocks.

We and our allies, could say fuck it. We are mining hydrate and we don't care. Fight it out with the Sunni without us,

You see, as bad as our "care" gets, it is essential for the world that we not say fuck it, right now.

Like Tony Soprano we still care, forgetaboutit. :)

Yeah, our military combined with our weaponry is virtually unstoppable.

But our people are weak. Could probably kill over half the country in a matter of weeks by just cutting the power. Look how crazy people get when a fucking computer system glitches on any program used by the masses.

I just don't like u saying china is going to whip our ass.
I never said that. citation needed

It's important not to be over-confident. That's all. You are going WAY overboard on presumptions of me being "scared", just because I KNOW it's smart to have a strong national defense. You're an idiot because of a few different reasons.
1. You think America is untouchable
2. You think Stockton is filled with gangsters and hillbillies:roll:
3. You're imagination creates confusion with reality. Expanding on my remarks to create a straw man argument. i.e:"I just don't like u saying china is going to whip our ass" -I never said it you arrogant retard. The threat of what our military can do prevents attack. Even a idiot such as yourself should be able to understand that, in spite of creating such false narratives.

[h=1]Fueled by Cheap Chinese Panels, U.S. Solar Use Soars[/h]
The solar-power business is expanding quickly in the U.S., helping lift the cloud that has surrounded the industry since the demise of Solyndra LLC a year ago.
But the growth isn't coming from U.S. solar-panel manufacturing, despite the money and rhetoric devoted to the industry by the Obama administration. Instead, it is in installations of largely foreign-made panels, whose falling price has made solar more competitive with other forms of power.
The real threat to the petrodollar empire (greatest military empire in history).

I read an interesting study about that. It tracked the amount of ordinance expended per day of fighting per fighting man. forgive me, but it was a long time ago so I am making up the numbers. Civil war = 1 ton, WWI = 10 tons WWII = 40 tons. The projection is that baring a nuclear incident, a modern war fought in earnest (not those limited engagements we have been involved with) would go through the country's stockpiles in a matter of months.

that means that no one would be able to ramp up production of replacement on either side. The study concluded that the winner of the next major conflict would invariably be the one with the deepest stockpiles of weapons - on hand at the start of the conflict.

Add that to the list of things we ignore for ObamaTax. Power Grid security. We just DE-certified a China company making PG controls in the USA. The ad hoc attacks are on the rise. It is a weak, and thin layered, grid at present. And the problem is technical and almost UN-solveable.

If one of the main inter-connects is compromised, the power surges on both sides cannot be managed. Both sides have automatic fail safes, that must cascade the failure or the grid is destroyed. Yeah, like in the North East, some time ago....twice. One of those a Solar Corona Mass Ejection hit, if I remember it.

We saw it, also, here a few years ago on the West Coast. The North interconnect in Oregon failed in a storm. Likely a little tornado tossed a tree into it.

It took a couple of days to sort it out. So, it looks like we are getting a bit more serious, now. Big test next week.

http://www.smartgridnews.com/artman/publish/Technologies_Security/Why-NERC-will-attack-the-grid-November-13-and-what-it-could-mean-for-utilities-6152.html/#.UnvqNxurTIU
The North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) is about to launch a simulated attack on the U.S. power grid. The drill will begin with a series of simulated attacks, both physical and cyber. Scheduled to last 36 hours, the "war games" will climax with a simulated national emergency.

I am very hesitant to respond to this, because I'm fairly certain this has been dealt with before on other threads...
And oddly enough, this also has its roots with Nixon.

However,
http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/tic/Documents/mfh.txt

Oh my...Japan is a threat!
But I digress...

China doesn't have a floating RoE (rate of exchange), instead they have an arbitrary peg to $US. In order to maintain the peg, they need to keep their balances in check.
All those surplus US$ that go to Chinese producers wind up in the CCB (China Central Bank) eventually, because US$ are not practical for transactions in China; the people want Yuan.
So the CCB "prints" Yuan for the Chinese and racks up a supply of $US. Now the CCB needs to do something with those $US, so what do they do?
They buy "liquid assets", i.e. US Treasuries, either in the open market or directly (disregard other foreign-asset/commodity options for now)...
Now this surplus goes back to the Fed (either directly or through primary dealer accounts), and the CCB gets their "chequing account" at the Fed credited.
The effect? Lower interest rates...

So really, this is a good outcome for the US "consumer" (I know you love that word). If the CCB wanted to fuck over the US, their better option would be to flood the ForEx, but that would inadvertently screw themselves over since it would reduce the purchasing power of the US "consumer" by driving down the value of the $US, while cranking up whatever other foreign denominations they purchase, which makes it equally difficult for Chinese investment in those other Nations.

Now I understand one can look at this and say "gee, that's an over-simplification", and it is; I'm not denying that (especially since I am not including the SDR in this exposition). And it is possible I am glossing over some other important details (like currency swaps) due to a rusty memory, not having needed to revisit this topic to any great depth in over a year...
But if you don't even understand the basic mechanics of Monetary operations at the National level, your xenophobia has no merit (not that it had any in the first place).
A funny side-note is if you were aware of how spooked they are of Muslim Terror, you'd probably feel greater kinship towards your yellow brothers and sisters.

you make several erroneous assumptions:

1: that i am fearful and bigoted against the chinese. nothing could be further from the truth. they are doing a great job of dismantling the marxist system established by mao, and reclaiming their anicent heritage from the Cultural Revolution. this is good. they seem to be craving hegemony and empire, which was neccesary under marxism, since unless marxism expands, it consumes itself. expansion and imperial ambitions cripple and bankrupt capitalist societies however (see Rome) and they will overextend their nascent capitalist market rather rapidly if they dont cut that shit out.

2: that i am unaware of how international currency exchanges work. nah, i understand that quite well enough, and yes your model was oversimplified, but good enough for a pothead forum. china's current market system is predicated on a favourable exchange rate with the US dollar, so more Dollars come in than go out. when the US stops buying products designed and produced by US firms who contract out with chinese firms for their nearly slave labour, and these US firms move their operations to indonesia, vietnam or thailand, the chinese economy will implode. but as long as we keep shoveling our money into china, and paying them to do our manufactureing for us, they will be quite happy to take our money, just as washington is more than happy to borrow it back from the chinese, and pay china the interest payments with more bonds sold to the same chinese govt for... MORE INTEREST on the interest.

3: that the game of high finance is anything but a detriment to actual people who actually work for an actual living. real people who work real jobs for real money do not need lower interest payments on more loans for more debt, they need MORE JOBS.
if you cannot pay back a loan, you are simply seling yourself into debt bondage, and as long as "Low Interest Rates" promise an easy fix for systemic financial problems, the american people will continue feverishly bailing out the boat while the politicians in washington keep drilling more holes in the hull.

4: Xenophobia. i do not suffer from fear of the unknown, i like new things and the unexplored frontiers. however i do not like being tolsd i must abandon the ways of my forefathers to embrace new foreign cultural imperatives which didnt work in the place they came from (eg: mexico, china, uganda, sandland, eastern europe, etc) which is exactly why the immigrants (both legal and illegal) came to THIS country in the first place.
if these other lands were so awesome, and their cultures and societies were so magically special, why did they leave to come here? some parts of california are now indistinguishable from mexico, and those parts of california have EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEMS AS MEXICO DOES, so why bother moving from michoacan to fresno? american society IS unique, it IS special, and it IS worth preserving, but apparently that makes me racist, so fuck it.

*sigh*

before this turns into another China Strong spam thread, the PRC's press releases are about as reliable as those from Pyongyang.

janes estimates that china does have several subs capable of fitting cruise missles, but NO ABILITY to fit nuclear weapons to those subs.

most of China's deep water navy is old diesel subs of russian manufacture (and they are still buying more) cuz their nuclear sub program (nuclear powered, NOT nuclear armed) is as shaky as Michael J Fox in a bouncy castle.

their surface navy is largely irrelevant even when compared to france, much less the US navy.

An interesting trend, but I suggest that it's been flattened somewhat by the quantum jump in targeting technologies since, say, Viet Nam. Smart bombs obviously, but better fire control systems on larger-than-infantry guns etc. I think offensive technology at this time has run somewhat ahead of defensive countermeasures, such as stealth and target-lockbreaking ecm.
