Hey guys, i'm posting here today to ask the question "is cool white only, alright for vegetation?" right now my grow box consists of two shop lights, both with two 40watt cool white fluorescent bulbs and i'm wondering if i should get a few more warm white bulbs in order to widen the spectrum of light. if i dont how will my plants be effected? :? :wall: :-P

I suppose it would ~work~ but ideal spectrum for veg would be like 6500k or daylight, where as cool white is 4100k. For flower you want even lower, around 2700k. As for the intensity 48" T8 @ 40w are like 3000 lumens each, assuming you're bulbs are 4 footers.

They will work, but not for long as the plants will need more lumens as they get larger. I have used a 4 bulb VHO T5 fixture for 2 large plants and it is excellent. You might want to look into it. Peace
