Is curing really that important? +rep for help

My auto kush has been drying for 1 day now and I'm curious if it's necessary to cure after they are dry. What does curing do for the buds that would make me want to wait an extra week or so to smoke it?

curing bud is probably the most important part of a grow imho.. you can grow dank ass weed, then not cure it and it will never live up to it's full potential..
curing allows the flavors and smells we all love so much to set into the bud, and allows all of the chlorophyl to escape, making much smoother, better burning buds..
imo, don't go all this way to skimp out on the cure.. a good cure will take a minimum of atleast 18 days of more ime, but worth every minute..

Curing allows the buds to dry evenly and when all the excess and unnecessary moisture is removed it allows thc to reach its most psychoactive potential as well as smoking smoothley. Proper curing ensures buds are completley dry and far less susceptible to mold when stored.

Thanks for the help fellas. I will cure it for at least a few weeks. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to bud quality so I don't mind waiting if it's worth it

Take some and squirrel it away for 6 months. Then try it. Good Christmas smoke.bongsmilie

The longer cured will bring it out amazing taste and high, you will aprreciate it. If you want to learn the proper cured in the jars, i highly recommend to get hygrometer to monitor the RH levels.

Cure upside down until 75% of weight is lost then place in mason jars or some form of hermatically sealed container.

If I am impatient I take a bud and put it under a cfl for a few hours to dry and smoke it. But for the bulk of your buds you want to cure it for flavor and also potency is better usually.

I now let the buds dry out with plant still in the pot, just stop watering. Cut them off the plant and hang them if not dry to the touch. When dry put them into a jar for half a day and then open the jar or dump them out till dry to the touch again. Repeat till they no longer get wet at all from being sealed up.

Not it is not important.
If you like smoking hay!

Dry and cure the stuff properly. You waited this long....Geee:leaf:

Until you cure out some of the harshness, it's difficult for the flavors to come out. Although I will say I've seen more improvement curing using organics, some of which taste amazing, like friggin candy.

it makes everything so much better...the smell, the taste, the look, the smoke, the everything gets better...
