Is everyone having trouble getting rid of their weed

It's gone cuz people buy hype and looks.
People here even remember what Fire even means ? What is elite clone ?
Are you growing seeds from breeders ? And sell the buds for 100$ ? Don't be surprised, it's mids
So much people here, Icmag, OG, pop hundreds of seeds without even one keeper in sight
So I call BS on the hype, those are not elites and if you get 100$ for them, that's what people are paying / thinking they are worth for them.
When you'll have that special some some (which from seeds we probably won't have) you'll see people buy the popcorn and trim from you at those prices.

People taking mine right off the hangars. I can't even get a 2 week cure before it's all gone.

They want the dark stuff. It's the rage around here right now. Black Velvet or Dante's Inferno. Gone in 60 seconds. I keep a variety going with several different top shelf strains. I guess my price is good as well. I wish I could get $100 a z.
That is awesome. What state are you in? Are you saying that you get less than $100 per oz for your dank? Also, how did you acquire your client base?

It's a dime a dozen in my area, had a retired veteran who loved my flower and showed it with generous donations. Until he moved . .. :( Now I just grow to just grow. When that one family member shows up from out of town...there goes half my shit ..lol.

Right I sold to like 7 different people and 5 out of the 7 would just smoke it. 2 out of 7 would sell it to a few people. I've had 1 fat person quit smoking bc they were drinking and smoking during covid and they were having heart issues so they stopped everything. Another person's wife died and he got put in the looney bin from dimentia. Another person when I had my best strain ever was in a nursing home center or something similar and his brother would buy an oz for himself and an oz for his brother and take it to him every week for 3 years. Well the nursing center then said they could go across the road and smoke.

Bottom line, killer weed/hash still go for a high price, you rarely come across it like old times.
If you get a low price, it's mids.
Here we have a strain (Rainbow Runtz) that also is out of stock all the time, not because it's super dank or anything, it's mids, but it's the best amongst them haha
So don't be so quick to think you have a killer product because people buy it, probably it's mids but it's better than everyone else around.

Risk-Reward situation if I ever saw one. The 90's was great but you get caught and you were done, your possessions are gone, you are in jail. "Yer damn right that pound is 5K". You deserve that reward. Now I can grow it in a closest legally...the risk is gone. Now if I buy it someplace else...maybe in between grow cycles, it's more about convenience and the best deals. Back in the day you deserved every penny you could get, you still do but there just aren't as many pennies to be had when your buyer base shrinks to nothing.

Dan is right, there is a top 1% and most will never see it. It gets sold before its grown and alot of it ends up going to states that are legal, but you will never see it for sale in a dispensary.

You can get mids here for $50 a z. Here meaning illegal state. Shit coming in from Mich and Cali by the tons. So yes, I get less than $100 a z for top shelf quality clone only buds. The reason is I use middle men to take weight. I do not sell ounces to people. My bud then gets sold from $150 to $250 a z. I could get a somewhat higher price but I'm not greedy. I just want to get paid for my hard work.

I have a tiny client base. Very risky but they have been loyal for decades. The bad part is they are getting old and starting to pass away. I'm too old to meet new people but sometimes a bigger buyer from one of my dead clients will get in touch with me and take over what he had. Seems like people find a way to find me all the time. Folks don't do that when you only have mids

There is no such thing as mids anymore, anything of substandard quality gets processed into other products( edibles topicals exct) I dont care how good your crop is if you tell me you think you'll get more then 225/oz I laugh in your face. Virginia is a grey market weeds legal sales are not
I find that there is a massive amount of mids being sold as top level. Maybe due to ledlighting and over breeding of stock but weed is not the same as it was years ago, except for some small boutique weed. But i get what you mean, there is very little market except for best of what id say is quite middy.

My take on this is that young people do NOT know what real marijuana is(was) because not even their parents were alive when it was around. They're just too young. They sell their weed based on legend. It's like that scene from American Beauty where the kid gives the choice of the "decent" weed for $300 an oz......OR, the G13 which is $2500 an ounce....LOL....Anyway, inside joke...You have to see the movie. Okay, I digress...

I think people had better start to learn how to grow their own weed. In CO, OR and WA...the legal weed is bunk. I'm hoping to find a real old-style phenotype to pop up one day. I hope to win the lottery one day, too. I read/hear the stories that those strains are still around....mostly from young people....but every time I go down the rabbit hole, there's no rabbit.

Kids these days want what they see on the internet ... if it isn't dark purple and photogenic it doesn't matter if it's the best bud in the world if I doesn't look a certain way it isn't going to go ..... bring back green bud

I've been smoking since '74 and I've smoked some really good weed . About 5 years ago I got an unknown strain from a friend who got it from a Jamaican guy he worked with . Possibly the best weed I've ever smoked . 1/2 a joint had two long time heavy smokers reduced to red eyed giggling piles of mush . It's out there but it's like a needle in a haystack .

I think the thing is very much that when ever you breed for a thing, you also breed against all the other things your not really taking note of or arent properly expressed in your grow . Indoor breeding means youll never see some of the traits that needs a certain lighting to be teased out of genes as an expression. This would be even further pushed when breeding under standard ledlights; they only cover approx 2/3ds of the par range and it seems like the most interesting expressions exist even beyond the par range.
Ive had good weed lately; breeder has done it all by keeping just 4 generations from old hippie seeds from pre 2000. And he also does his breeding under lighting that covers the complete spectrum, from 285nm uvb all the way to infrared. And no, its not a bulb, they do not go down as far as 285nm - DIY leds and ceramic heaters.

Here's a hack for indoor growers. I really did by accident and wish I could repeat the practice only I lost the living room for tent space. How it happened first. I measured out a space for a 4x8 in the living room/dining space against the wall. When the tent arrived and set up, it didn't fit! So I turned it with the opening of the tent towards the sliding doors of the living room. Turns out .. Morning light was blasting through them sliding doors straight into the tent! I was getting about three hours of direct sunlight on my plants everyday. Id leave the tent wide open and the shades open from the sliding door to get that direct sunlight everyday. The sliding door faced East so we'd get the rising sun. I think that made a difference in the terps... I've never had anything as special as that grow since. To get that space back... Sigh.

Well theres defo points for creativity in that! But you really want high noon and sunkissed - direct sun. And even altitude if you can, it multiplies the amount of uv. Morning sun, and from behind glass or even plastic growhouse- it does not quite compare. Theres no "i think i made difference" its like "wowzerz, i just stepped into Sephora". But you also need to be in a place where people do summer holidays, my german friends just wont get it when i talk outdoors cause well its not the same as Spain. But even a little violet in you grow, not even uv, will make a difference if you have a red heavy flower spectrum. Typical grow leds of today, a little less loud in your face and more complex and subtle with violets/uv. But now im derailing the thread, this was supposed to be talk of how black market is going.
