Is Frog Poop a good/safe fertilizer?

So I have a lot of frogs where I live. At night the frogs come out and gather around my windows, I assume because the lights attract the bugs to the windows. So the frogs do what they do and in the morning I find frog poop around my windows. Has anyone ever used frog poop in their grows before? Is it even safe? I think because they eat bugs it should be good stuff but I just have no idea. I have never seen a post about it on RIU before so I would like to hear everyone's opinion.

Hmmm. That's a good question. Wouldn't the frogs be considered carnivores, or at least omnivores? If so, I think the composting comment above would be good advice. I don't myself, but you can (relatively) safely use herbivore manure directly on your plants.

I had a friend that had a bunch of frilled-lizards (can't remember the type), they only ate crickets and he fed his lizard poo to his plants, no composting or anything, just threw it in with his tea. Course it was relatively small amounts. But it's kinda similar to the frogs.

I mean if you think about it, at night I always see big toad frogs hopping around the garden in front the house. All they do is crap while their looking for bugs. So I would say that everybody's outdoor gardens already have frog crap in it.

They are kings of crapping all over the place. I will try throwing some in my composter and I will also try some the next time I brew a tea. I hope it works.

I have to know, how much frog poop, in grams, can you honestly expect to collect in a weeks time?

Very intriguing question.

Yeah, I guess if you think about it their poop would be somewhere in the same category as fish poop. Aquaponics systems prove that fish poop is beneficial to plants, so I don't see why frogs wouldn't be?

I have toads and lizards in my rooms.. i find them outside like you do..i bring them in to hopefully eat gnats.. they dont do a lot but bury themselves right under the dirt and chill.. i think it might be to cold for them in the grow rooms

you could spend all night collecting frog poop for a week and barely fill up a thimble. good question just not at all practical.
