Yeah, hydro makes for sad plants...
Guess which of these plants is in soil, which are in coco and which are in rockwool?

I dont think this is a fair example. Because with cfls the ones closest to the bulb will do the best, and the hydro ones will grow more during the end of veg and the stretch. If we had individual tables scrogged out I maybe able to tell a differance toward the end of flower but not before.

I was just pointing out that they are all quite healthy, equally so in soil and hydro. There are 570 watts of LED also, out of frame, the CFL are there for a little warm color because my leds are too blue. But I hear your criticism, for sure, you have a point.
@vostok says he prefers the flavor of soil-grown but I won’t argue with him even though I think that’s psychosomatic, he is entitled to that opinion. It is based in his personal experience entirely and can’t be refuted. I won’t argue against it. But some folks just make shit up and parrot things they hear with no defensible basis in fact or experience.

I ran hydro about a year, a 10x10 room. Loved it. Plenty of good to say about it.
Its hands down faster in veg no doubt. Easily grows a large plant. But soon as you get to flower I think theres a little trade off. It's not huge but I think its there. I think in a lot of ways soil allows a flexability hydro doesn't. I know I could never do with hydro what I'm doing with soil right now as far as plant mobility and storage

The hydro table I have now cost almost nothing to set up.
Some cheap polyester batting to cover the bottom of the 2x4 hot water geyser drip tray.
Some panda film to cover the tops, and a few 4" rock wool cubes and plugs to get them started, a cheapo pump will do and a plastic tub to catch the water again on the outlet of the tray, oh and a timer. A cycle timer is nice, but any old timer can be used. Probably not even 5 dollars in materials if you have a few odd items around the house already.
I'm just following the instructions on the FLora trio bottles' pamphlet.
