wouldnt that only be like 4 months? you must live in an area where the climate is very mild if you can grow this time of year outside. whats the light cycle your getting there?

you should def pick up a (microscope) that way you can look at the resin glands real closely. Not a telescope, thats to look closer at stuff, however that is really far from your relative position, i.e. space.
30 bucks or less radio shack.
How big are your grow pots/containers?
You want to flush every 21-30 days to avoid problems that you are experiencing.
This becomes increasingly more important when you enter flower.

I imagine you have no PH-test to make sure your water is in the correct ph - range, required to grow in soil.
Go to your local pet store pick up an aquarium ph test kit. Then buy some distilled water which has 0 PPM,PH it to around 6.5-6.6 and flush the shit out of your plants, double the amount of water as the volume your soil holds. (2gal container flush 4-6 gal of water etc. so on and so forth.) after this wait untill soil is light and dry before watering again.
Grow those for a couple more weeks, otherwise the finish product will be weak and non-potent.
You'll thank me later i promise! Good luck.

P.S. your plants have not grown long, in the sense that, thats about how long you would have to grow a plant to get it mature and all when starting from seed.

Yes based on similar experiences of my own grows or friends that grow, the info i provided will get him a good chance to finish those up nicely.
The supplies are something that will last a long time, so it would be prudent now, as much as for future grows. If he went this long he might as well try to get a nice product off of it rather than bunk, non-potent, immature fluffy, green matter... I always say go big or go home, considering my advice is not all that over-achieved, and rather quite basic, with little investment on his part, to make the world of difference for the final product.
Does that clear anything up for you? His strain look sativa from the pics and those buds can still fatten up and get sweet, resiny, skunky it needs another four weeks. Also add 1 tbsp molasses per gal water, when doing regular watering.
