Is it bad to to cover plants outside in a small space?

Helo, i have 4 plants in 2 big pots outside dug into the ground a foot. Am just starting to flowering process now and after 12 hours daylight i have put a fold up table over the top of them with a waterproof barbecue jacket over the table and then a large thick blanket on topso no light gets through. The table is only just about as wide as the plants are, there is probably half a foot between the top of the plants and the bottom of the table if you understand what i mean. just wondering if a lack of oxygen/air movement will kill my plants, dont really have another way of flowering them because the daylgiht doesnt get down to 12 hours until end of september here, takes 9 weeks to flower this strain so wont be ready to end of november/early december, and its just way to cold at that time of year, not to mention wet. So anybody know if im smothering my plants or if they will be fine. They will only be covered like this for a few horus a day, 4 max as i take them off again at night when its dark outside. Any knowledge appreciated :-)

watch for mold, I am in the same boat with one I have,But I cover it up at 7pm and I take it off before I go to bed. So it gets to wach the sunrise.. but yea mold can be an issue later on

cool, thats the same method i'll be using basically, sunrise here today was 5.10am, so covered it and 5.10pm. Yeah i guess the humidity would be a problem, might try and feed it some of that stuff that promotes mould resistant plants. I'm guessing it shouldbe ok because will only be covering it for a few hours. thanks

Its a great way to beat the system and will ultimetly help as fall approaches and the cooler weather. Ive already harvested 2 plants here in maine by doing exactly what your doing. :)

you are in luck cause honestly you dont need the tarp unless you want to force flower early which idk about the lack of oxygen but plants outdoors dont wait for 12/12 its usually 14/10. they will flower end of july early august. dont worry.

are you sure bro? from what i knew they needed 12/12, they have been growing now for 8 weeks, so they are pretty well vegged by now, i have never heard that about flowering plants, would make sense to me though, but they havnt started to flower yet. Do you know if its visible to flower my plants now 12/12 to induce flowerring for a couple of weeks, then just taking it off and letting the nautral light work its magic, will probably not be 14/10 for another month where i live. You sure about that mate? Might just plkay it safe and continue to force flower, thanks

playing it safe would be to not mess up its light cycle lol and im positive give me a second and i will post a helpful link. someone earlier today was talking about the equinox/12-12, coming on september 21st but plants DO NOT wait for that long or else everyone would want to force flower and half of everyone wouldnt get the flowering done in time before the first frost/snow my plant should be showing sex in the next couple days up to a week. i planted mine back on april 2nd or 3rd lol but yeah if flowering didnt happen till september 21st i wouldnt be able to finish cause i live right by pittsburgh it gets cold as ever in october.

Thanks man +rep, so you honestly think i shoudl just let nature take its cause, i planted mine early may, no signs of flowering as of yet, might take some pics in a couple of days and maybe people can tell me, im a noob to be fair so every little helps, thanks

oh trust me the plant i got growin now is my first i just read a shit load of information in the process which helped a lot. my general idea was shit compared to what i learned but yeah let nature guide them to there fullest potential. i mean i started mine early but whether you plant it april or may they should flower at the same time. you will notice other plants besides marijuana growing their flowers too and such. just a little help as to a estimate of when your marijuana should be flowering, in my opinion its worth the couple extra weeks of waiting but yeah you're welcome, cant wait to see pics.

Listen to rougar hes on top of his shit. I live in maine and if plants started flowering at 12/12 we would never get a harvest. Its just when the daylight starts getting shorter and shorter that the plant naturally starts to flower. That technique is really only used for early harvest, longer flowering strains and way northern growers but ive heard of people growing in alaska with success so keep that in mind. Peace good luck with the harvest

nice one guys, well my apple tree outside has apples on it about an inch in diameter at the moment, but no flowering on my babies, obviously the apple tree has to grow them to a much bigger size, and im no expert on apple trees either, lol. well i have just taken the cover off, but if you are positive then i will just let them do there thing, just wouldnt want to have to bring them indoors if it gets too cold!

still a bit paranoid about them not flowering to be honest, would be looking to harvest around the time that the light here gets to 12/12, so if i induced flowering now would be just about ready by then, but if you think i might aswell leave it i will, have yours started to flower yet dude?

i wouldnt worry about them if you planted back in may. they will flower just fine. lets hope all females but yeah i wouldnt compare to an apple tree lmao. i would say more like smaller shrub like plants or when you are out and about look at plants lol cause in my back yard and around my property there is over 100 variations of plants and flowers growin lol most of them are getting their bulbs on them and are about to bloom. when they bloom is when i should expect my marijuana plant to flower. either a little before the other plants or a little after.

Thats really useful to know mate thanks, i will just let nature take its course, now i guess i have stressed them because they have had 1 random day of 12/12 no going back to 16 so guessing they wont like that! i'll just let them do their thing, thanks for the advice. and if its doesnt work out im sure i could bring them in and stick them under a hps light if it does get too cold before the harvest is ready, thansk

you're welcome and nah it wont stress them to make a difference. once it gets hit with the morning sun tomorrow it will be as if it never happened lol.

no idea. if you look at my plant. i had two of them in the bucket, i had a feeling they'd get root bound so i transplanted the bigger one that had less sets of leaves seeing as usually males grow taller. the other one i still have in the pot is more sets of leaves but a bit shorter much more developed now. the other one is going along very very slow gettin ate by bugs and its a mess lol if it produces buds i will probably just sell it cause it wont be all that great. as for my other plant it was from seeds i saved from the best bud i was buying during the winter its one of two people. which could either be ak47 or unknown. lol im guessing unknown cause this plant is highly sativa
