Is it better to blow through the carbon filter, or out into it?

So which is better? Or does it not make a difference? Lets say setup A goes as follows

A. Carbon scrubber attached to a cool tube, cool tube attached to a fan, fan exhausts.

B. Cool tube attached to a fan, fan exhausts into a carbon scrubber.

Which would be better? Does it matter?

I would say B is your best choice.

I'm a newb to the growth... but from my work in heating and A/C I would say it depends on the strength of the exhaust fan. if the fan is small/weak you're better off with option A because it may have difficulty forcing air through the scrubber. If you've got a strong exhaust fan it won't matter.

people do it both ways.... whichever works for you is what i say...

Best way if youre using a cool tube is to arrange as follows: cool tube, ducting, fan, carbon scrubber. exhaust should be as close to the outlet as possible because fans are four times more efficient at pulling air than pushing it. If you can manage to attach the carbon scubber to your glass tube that would work as well but i like to push into a carbon filter because sometimes ducting gets holes in it and your air wont be 100 scrubbed if you have holes. check out odor socks! they are light enough to attach to light fixures without hanging them and you can throw them in the washer to clean them! Ive been using mine for a year and its great.

if you want to put it at the end, be sure to remove the white prefilter from the outside of the filter and put it on the inside as best you can.

I vent from outside, into light and back outside. separetly i exhaust by pulling air up and out of the room into the filter. Filter, blowers and ballast outside of the room

You should pull air THRU your scrubber then out, this gives you the best efficeiny as the fan can only blow out what it sux thru.

If you BLOW thru the filter the fan has to work harder to push the air out of it and can also have a build up of air pressure which will blow back and kill the fans efficiency.

I recently made my exhaust go out my window which has improved the temperature in my room greatly. How much cooler would this make it?

the ballast and blower motors create a good amount of heat in a small area,its best to be removed from the grow room
