Medicare for all is what this ruling says is the answer. The ACA was always a clumsy compromise and GOP's actions only make passage of expanding the federal program more likely. Not right away but they give Democrats an edge going into the 2020 election. Only a matter of time before they hand the keys to govt back to Democrats who actually do want to govern rather than GOP rule.

But now the employers are saying there are other options, such as ACA, (which theoretically is extinct), so essentially the weakest and the most vulnerable are bypassed, and left to die, simply because of the fucking greed in the American Medical Societies
Why is it that it cost's FIVE FUCKING TIMES the average cost of health care in this country vs. the rest of the world?
I recently cut my hand, that required 3 stiches.
$1200 later with a $50 co payment all is good.

I feel extremely fortunate to have have good insurance through my employer. I have BCBS, I pay $48/week for health with a $20 or $30 co-pay for prescriptions and I think it costs $50 for office visits, I have a $1500 deductible. I pay $3/week for vision and $9/week for dental.

Haven't had to use my insurance yet, but I think I'm going to use the vision soon and get a new pair of glasses. I have to wear glasses to drive a CMV, I have an astigmatism in my left eye.

You are the exception, and you are a very lucky man.
10's of millions have no insurance, Obamacare added over 20 million to the rolls of the insured, but that still is not enough to ward off disaster when you cut your thumb.
It's pure greed that put us in the situation we are in today, and the insurance company's are the culprit, and the GOP loves too suck their dick, so what do you do?

some people are just jackasses and don't know the feeling of not being able to make their first premium payment of $9.85, due to lack of social safety network in this country.

but they gave the company that laid me off a nice tax cut of 35% to 21%.

Yeah, it is sad that somebody earning six figures and working twenty years straight who pays no taxes and has no dependants and who works a second job of peddling overpriced grams to the seniors in her retirement complex can find themselves penniless soon after being fired.

People in as bad a position as you are should not turn down job offers of over $100K.

I seen that post Schuylaar said she turned down a 100K a year job, that is a good income anywhere in this country with the exceptions of California and New York. That kind of attitude is a problem.


I don't know, maybe some people actually enjoy living in poverty? As for me, I'd work 2 $10 an hour jobs before I let myself go insolvent
 
What was the most you would pay with obamacare?

How much do you pay for a good health insurance company that gives you adequate coverage with very little copay?

It is just curiosity. We don't pay like that we pay in our federal income tax.

I think you're taking advantage of the system, you have the skills and ability to get an interview at a company that offered you a nice income...and you turned it down. That "social safety network" is set up for people who don't have those skills and ability.

Sorry, I feel like you're not pulling your own weight and would rather have someone else support you.

you weren't privy to the terms and i did counter which put the ball in their court.

they chose to not come back with ANYTHING..how do they negotiate/treat their potential employees?..that was their first test and they failed poorly.

you see sweetie..they're in trouble too and need my 20 year-old book of business and contacts here in south florida..schuylaar's veill knows all.

is pulling my own weight like pulling myself up by my boot straps?

Well, if I didn't have any means of income, damn straight I'd haul any load for anyone.

I would take what I can get for the time being and keep looking for a better paying load to haul

I have the skills and abilities to work, so I will, even if it's not exactly what I want. To me, $5 is better than $0

it wasn't meant that way.

we are in two different employment worlds.

in my world, committing and bailing is bad..i've seen 20-something's do it but they're still wreckless until they get into their 30's.

at my age the expectation is i'm true to my spidey senses and that i know better.

i hated to give it up; but i didn't trust them.

the fact that they kept telling me what a flexible company they were but wouldn't even entertain something IMPORTANT TO ME in a counter-offer told me everything.

the holidays are the worst time to lose employment..it seems most fiscals end 3/31, so companies look to hire with their new budgets- spring.
