Is it possible to have too much airflow to the bottom of your bucket?

i put extra holes in the bottom of my buckets to allow it to dry out faster? is this ok? i mean i'd rather let the soil dry out faster and water more often.....

Is this ok if i put exta holes on the bottom of the bucket? is there such thing as too much airflow to the roots?

The roots should dehydrate stop growing then branch up furthur up, jus dont do what i once did n but hydroton at the bottom. Some say it works but its bullshit, i hated pulling it n seeing how many roots were being wasted growing round them!

well what i have noticed is . Smaller plants u cant water as much cause there's less roots, so i was forced to put extra holes at the bottom of one of my buckets so it would dry out, day 3 was still wet before the extra holes after water. so it was a must. Im realizing u cant just water a smaller plant the same as u would a bigger one.

yeah, i used hydroton once, it was mixed throughout the soil. But it didnt seem to help for shit. Nor would i ever consider it again for soil

Smaller plants barely need any water, especially when they are just seedlings. As they get bigger and you begin a strict food schedule, ya shit changes.

For new plants I barely water them. Usually every 3 days for a party cup sized pot. I like to let the soil be pretty much bone dry before giving any water. This method encourages the roots to stretch out and find water. When roots do this, you end up with a very strong healthy root structure when heading into flowering.

Here is one of my little girls. Only 7 days old. Most plants ive seen dont even reach this size for 14 days with typical watering proceedures, where people will water a little bit every day here and there. Early development, i dont water until they are at the point of near dehydration.
