Here scottyballs accomplishes this with a freaking 400W https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/344359-pineapple-express-g13-labs-seed.html but that was with a waterfarm. soil would be much slower in growth im thinking.

Yes, of course you can pull a pound with a 600HPS. It won't happen on your first grow, just as it won't happen without selected genetics, but ultimately it's not that difficult. FWIW, on average, I pull ~2.5oz/ft2 (dry/cured) with 600s and ~3.25oz/ft2 dry/cured under 1Ks.
