Is it time to flush my ladies?

Hey all,

Growing 4 Papaya ladies in a 4x4 under a 600w hps in DWC with full House and Garden nutes including Top Booster/Top Shooter, getting near the end I think. Took these photos with one of those fancy USB microscopes, but I understand the quality is a little lacking. Figured I need to start flushing soon, was curious and wanted a second opinion as to whether I should begin flushing or wait.

For the record, I plan on flushing for 5-7 days with ph'd water.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, having trouble determining what is cloudy/what isn't honestly. Threw in all the pics I took just in case a few of them are good enough for someone to be able to determine if they're ready for that flush or not.

Thanks all!

Nice how you get such good pictures? using digital camera?
Also from what i have learnt, you should probably wait till atleast half of them are 50% amber like a mix of both clear and amber for a good high or just wait for all to be milky for best thc amount as they go amber u get the other chemical bnc? or something

Ran it by a friend, he agreed that they're about 50-60% cloudy, so I started flush. I don't wait for amber since the trichomes turning amber indicates that the THC has begun degrading into CBN, which is unusable. Cloudy indicates peak THC content, so I figured with a 4 day flush in DWC most of the rest would cloud up. Definitely don't want things turning amber, though, because I'd rather have a crop that gets me high than a crop that makes me feel sick (that is, a crop where it's turning into CBN).

Yea, you got a pretty nice microscope, is that like 300x? Pics look great. Don't bother waiting till the trich is amber, they appear to be mostly cloudy. I'd flush now for a few days take another look and cut them. 50% amber is way too long. You want that nice high. None of that amber shit won't do anything but make you useless.

Hey, sorry to be the noob here, but .. flushing?
Isn't that when you cycle clean water and clearing solution to remove salts from the growing material so that nutes will continue being absorbed properly? How does this have to do with harvesting and what am I missing? :)
Thanks.

It's 100% personal preference man. My friends like an early-harvest (w/ mostly cloudy and some clear) to get a super psychoactive high. I prefer to have 50%+ amber so my back feels fucking awesome. It's totally up to you mang. Your shit looks all clear and cloudy but I can't tell for sure from the pics; use a scope if you really want to know. But honestly man; nowadays I don't even check my trichs; weed is weed and I'm gonna get benefits; I grow a lot of strains so I dont need to be mad picky; I just harvest by general appearance, it's easy to do. GL bro (if you're a lady, sorry, good luck lady). OH; the papaya looks delicious. I just popped some trainwreck x hawaii (pineapple express); excited!

Before harvest, depending on how you fed the plant, often people will run plain ph'd water or something like Final Phase and then plain ph'd water rather than something with nutes for the last 3-14 days, depending on whether you're in hydro or soil and what sort of nute program you ran etc. A lot of people argue it's more about curing than flushing, but I'm just playing it safe. I'm in Deep Water Culture so I only flush for 3 days, people who do soil flushes usually flush for far longer due to the necessity of flushing out the soil.

The point seems to be to have the plant break down all the nutrients you were feeding it so as to take away any chemmy taste, however some say chemmy taste comes from hitting it too hard with nutes rather than not flushing it properly. Regardless, I give it 3 or 4 days of plain, ph'd water so that the plant can just break down as much excess nitrogen and other chemicals as possible. Then I throw it in the dark for 24 hours to allow resin to build and then chop 'em! At least, that's the plan!

Thanks for the compliment on the pics man, I use a 10-300x microscope actually, one of those digital USB ones that hook up right to your computer: http://shop.gyostuff.com/Gro1-Digital-Microscope-300x-999010.htm
