I didn't do any of that my first time, and this is a technique i would like to try. Is it too soon still or should i go for it? i have other babies so i'm not afraid to hurt one or two trying this LOL

I wouldn't think it would hurt anything to start now. I let the plant get 4" to 6" tall I think it gives the main stock a little more strength to hold all of the top part up.

I've heard to wait till the 4th or 5th "real"node, sum say 8th or 9th, but it's preference I guess...they're lookin' good though, what type of bean, & lighting are you using

I would think the "4-6 inches" would depend on how it was grown, and how compact or stretchy it was..I'm a n00b, but learnin'...lol..

When the 6th node shows, cut right above the 2nd true node (don't count cotyledons)

This will give you 4 new "main" growth shoots.

I wait until the plant is big enough so I can take a three or four inch snip and leave it at a good set of branches. I'll clone the snip and if the strain works out it will be a cloned mother or if it doesn't work out it'll get tossed (male) or toss in for budding and forgotten. I would not top for any other reason.
