looking to buy htgs 250 watt hps and am wondering if it is worth it to get the light combo with the 250 MH conversion bulb. Do you notice that much of a difference in plant growth with MH? please let me know.. thanks

I'd say yes. MH creates more balanced ray's for what the plant needs during the veg stage, Although you can also use floros in the cool section during veg, Just will take more time to grow and IMO, $60 is worth it. But do it any way you can afford, I heard you can use,HPS during the whole growth? I never would least I must do so.

I have the HTG Supply 400 watt with MH conversion bulb and I like it.

I also have the Sunmaster Conversion bulb which is another $20 on top of the price and it is a bad ass light. I have never grown all the way through with an HPS or MH but I know some people on here do with good results. I think the thing is, in small indoor grows every little bit helps

If you can swing the extra $$$ then it is highly reccomended to veg with MH and flower with HPS.

is a conversion bulb simply a "special" bulb you can put with a HPS ballast? It just screws into where an hps bulb can screw into?

Do you have a link to the bulb you are talking about? I was curious because I had never seen a 250-watt conversion bulb before and when I went to HTGS I did not see a 250-watt conversion bulb.

I have the HTG 400 watt conversion bulb as well and I noticed a difference in veg growth when I used it on my last grow. HPS does a fine enough job for both veg and flower though, and I would hesitate to say that the difference is enough I would consider buying the buld on its own. Had it not come in the kit, I think I would not own it. I have seen several online hydro stores selling the 250 watt version, but cannot find any solid information regarding its output.
