Is MJ pollen illegal in the US?

I haven't seen any bean sites offering pollen for sale. Guess it doesn't make a whole lotta business sense, but many people only have to buy a strain once anyhow. Some people would love the availability to make their own beans and crosses with out having to care for a male or the danger of hitting a whole room. So what is the legality? Is it detectable/contain THC at detectable levels? Business opportunity for someone?

it probably would be considered illegal in the US, as its only legit use would be to pollinate female illegal plants.

Not a bad idea! I like where your head is at. Look into this so I can start a company :)

would i stay viable during shipping is the real question. it would be imposable to distinguish pollen from on eplant to another so it being illegal is no controlable

yeah i guess it really wouldn't be obvious what kind it was, as long as where it is sold they sell legal pollens too.

It wouldn't be worth it, not enough people would buy.

Also pollen has a very short shelf life so you'd have to grow males all the time, and lots of them to maintain variety so the risk probably wouldn't be worth the reward.

Can't hurt to try though.

lol I always give away my valuable ideas. How long is pollen viable when kept in frozen storage? Have a flavor of the month. Why wouldn't it stay viable through mail? Proven male pollen could be sold for a substantle (sp) price considering the return.

I'm not in a position to try, if I were I wouldn't give away the idea. I disagree with not being in demand, I dare say they wouldn't be able to keep it in stock. Make an easy contained method of pollination part of the purchase and you could see pollen become as big of a product as seeds. If I were to offer male C-99 pollen for say $100 and you got 100 seed return on mixing with your favorite strain, that would be a pretty sound investment. Granted breeding is not for everyone, but with a little education it would become much wider spread.

Thanks for the offer but I don't really need any at the moment.

So how long of a storage life are we talking? I believe I remember hearing that it can hang around a grow room for a while so that would lead me to believe the opposite.
