This is a lowlife auto unknown strain. I don't know exactly how old it is, but I know it sprouted the second week of june so I am thinking it is about 65 days old. I'm guessing I have like 5-10 days more to go. I checked my trichomes with the microscope and it looks like I have mostly cloudy trichomes, a few clear ones still, and a few amber trichomes.

Whenever my gf and I smoke an hour later shes sleeping, so from what I have read I am looking for more amber trichomes because cloudy ones give you the 'couchlock' high or 'headie' high and the amber ones don't give you that 'sleepy' high quite as much. Am I right?

Some clear to mostly cloudy=a heady, more cerebral high. The more amber=couchlock. I like to go 50/50(cloudy/amber) but sounds like you want full cloudy with a few amber so your chic can stay awake and enjoy the buzz.

Amber trichomes signal full maturity towards degradation of the THC. Cloudy trichomes signal you are moving closer and closer to the final harvesting potential, but still not there. (Clear trichomes then suggest that budding is in the virgin stages of THC production).

Harvesting at the apex of cloudy trichome production yields more of the buds genetic potential for 'racey' or 'speedy' highs. Very loose terms indicating you harvested before complete maturity.

With a beneficial mix of more amber to milky trichomes, expect the final product to be more and more to the full potential of the genetics.

Hope that helps at least a bit = )

The problem many have with trichs is they look at one tiny area and assume that what they see there holds true all over the plant. I have looked at one area on oneleaf and seen mostly clear trichs, then in another area on the same leaf and seen many amber ones. I try to look at at least six locations and them move around some on each location and just take an overall average. Most growers are in much more danger of chopping too early than too late.

ok so I had it backwards, so I should harvest sooner then I originally thought to avoid that 'couchlock' sleepy high....? I'm going to check the trichomes in several different spots on the plant in a minute here, I am STARVING right now just smoked a bong and haven't had anything to eat for awhile...

thank you, its weird my other female auto's are much taller, but hey it was a mixed pack so I cant complain. I just checked the trichomes and I am still seeing a couple clear ones, not many though. Its looking like 80% cloudy 10% amber 10% clear

People have a tendency to think trichs go from all clear to some coudy to all cloudy to some amber. Not true, you will see all three the whole way through. If you waited for zero clear many would have decayed. I'd wait until you see at least 25% amber, ignore the clear.
