Is my light set-up going to work?

I am using a fluorescent Solar 120v 60hz 0.35A F14w light for a 5 day old sprout. I am planning on using it until the last frost( another week or two), and then planting it outside into the ground. It is on a 6/18 cycle during sunlight hours. Is it going to receive enough energy with this light? or is it crap and not going to work at all? The light was originally bought for a pet turtle. I am not looking to have a FLAWLESS plant, I only want to produce bud. :leaf:
please help me, thank you.

Negative...that'd be a big issue. You want to run 18/6, not 6/18. ... crash course: the first number in the #/# is always 'on' or 'sun up' equiv.

I don't know what those things mean..lol..joking..but you want either a 5000k to 6500k or 2700k to 3000k light spectrum from the light I run both and alot of them, but I grow indoors, but yeah as long as it's for just a few weeks they'll be fine..good luck hope that helps

well im new to this. what I meant for the 6/18. I have the light on for 6hrs a day. but all and all your saying it is going to be an issue with my light, switching to outside sunlight after its 2-3 weeks old?

Nope, not your light specifically.. the time that it's on. You have it 6 on, 18 off... for any form of vegetative growth, you're going to need it to be on for 18 hours a day, and 6 off.

Good good, the sooner the better given outdoor season based on your location.. if you're behind the curve, it needs veg time asap... adding 1 or 2 extra bulbs with a simple bulb splitter may drive your electric bill up 2-3 bucks, but will help with the veg growth indoors.. and yes, with CFLs - keep them extremely close to the plant.
