Is my plant gonna die?

Sorry to See this but that's terminal bro. No saving that. It's called dampening off. Medium was to moist for the lil one. Or like your fears...ya cooked it.
Just watch the moisture levels when sowing seed and keep that lamp at a safe distance.
If it's not enough light they will reach n stretch. Just lower the lamp and keep n eye on them.

Seedlings can be fickle creatures. Keep trying. You'll get it.

It’s done buddy. Try starting out with a weaker light until the plant is stronger, and then you can use the big boy. I used to use T5‘s or even simple van lights to veg for a few weeks, then they went under the my HPS 600.

I feared that would be the case, thanks for the info this is my first time and I actually had it doing amazing under loads of random LEDs but I'll invest in a veg light (T5) thanks for the quick reply, do you think my grow tent set up is ok? That image is from the random LEDs.

It doesn’t have to be an “investment“ or expensive. Before I had a T5, I literally used lightbulbs in aluminum shop-can fixtures. A “setup” like that cost 10 bucks and I clipped it to a shelf or desk. After a couple weeks, I moved them to the big light. Kt looks like you’ve got a 2x2 tent, which is really tiny for such a powerful light. Your space generally is recommended to have about 200 watts at the upper limit, unless you can dim heavily.

Thanks you, I've actually found some suitable lights really cheap around £10 I'll put the 600w hps to one side until I get a bigger tent and start again when I've got the suitable lighting. Thanks for the help.

I was surprised what a bunch of crappy LEDs from TEMU could do so I can't wait and thanks I'm excited to finally be doing it myself.

Thanks, it was definitely the light I over watered afterwards to try and salvage the little gal.

I run a 400 watt hps bulb on 250w with my digital ballast (it has 3 settings - 250w, 400w & 600w). A digital ballast could be a good investment if you are wanting to use HPS. I know running a 400 watt bulb at 250 watts isn't as efficient as running a 250 watt bulb, but it does the job for me and helps keep the temperatures down

I've actually got a 600w ballast it's not adjustable unfortunately could I use a smaller watt bulb in it?
I don't think its advisable to use a lower wattage bulb with the 600 watt ballast. I got my digital ballast a good few years ago now for around £50 (omega lighting digi-pro+ dimmable digital ballast - i have the box right nearby me lol).
My big old 600 watt ballast I used for a few years and it was alright but made a rather loud buzzing noise constantly. The digital ballast is completely silent and nice and compact
