Is that place still rolling?

Hey Nerds,

I just read a post saying that this comunity wont hold together with sub leaving and other like Nug being already gone.

It's been an amazing year and a half and i've learned more than i could ever imagine, and i truly believe that this comunity could still keep on going, sure it was mainly TGA oriented but i've learn as much from subcool than many other. Most of us are growing seed from different breeder and this forum always was about sharing and learning.

Got to give respect and love to subcool for creating this place, with that said i'm convinced that we nerds are making this place roll - just like frenchy's thread got hundreds of pages in a month - and despite subs decision we can keep on sharing just like we always did.

Weed nerd never was about worshiping a guru if you ask me - again all credits due dont take me wrong - we're the weed nerd nation, if sub dont want to have to handle is own forum let just call the place the weed nerd section and keep on doing our thing...

Well i hope that can work.

As long as people keep posting their "experiences" all noobs can have something to refer to. That's what has helped me the most- seeing other growers' techniques, treatments, etc. Then I can extrapolate from those what I think would be best for my situation. I hope that makes sense. Don't just take one persons advice, gather as many opinions as possible then form your own opinion.

I was the one who said I doubt the community will last... whether it will... we'll just have to see. Maybe it will, maybe it won't... I visited the last forum sub was on a couple months back before he came to RIU.... the tga forum that is left there has 2 or 3 new threads posted a month and is mostly filled with haters... have a feeling that's the future here, but it'll just depend on who stays and who goes.

omg SUBS LEAVING how will RIU live on. anyone who thinks that is a retard.
i have learned many things in the couple months ive been here. ill admit
a couple were from sub, but his threads are still here. the valuable knowledge
he gave is still here. there is so much non TGA activity on this site. theres just alot of
TGA talk because its a very popular company in the cannabis community right meow.
his strains are boss and alot of ppl grow them.

but there are MANY experienced growers on this site. countless in fact. and there info
can be just as/ if not more helpful than anything sub posted.

sub is a genius and has added alot to the cannabis community in general, however
i strongly believe his absence will not affect RIU one bit.

im not against sub. as i said hes a genius whos added much to the community.
but im not gonna follow him blindly. i understand the man has health problems
but if online forum quarrels stress u out that much. dont go to online forums?

but i like to refer to it as Honest over being a dick.

i came here to learn about growing. and i check out the new posts
daily and theres plenty of helpful threads. again like every forum in the past
and every forum in the future. there will be trolls and stupid people
who demean the actual purpose of the site. u have to just ignore them.

I don't think anyone said RIU was going to go down because of sub or any nerds leaving... we were talking about the TGA subforum.

As for leaving strictly because he is, 90% of the threads i follow are in the tga subforum... if that dies there's not a lot of reason for me to stay. i was already thinking of taking a break when this whole thing happened anyway.

Time will tell but although the main lining thread still runs well i aint really the same and i must say i feel like you're right unfortunately.

@Sunni:There as never been as much moding since sub said he would leave this place. I'm not saying the subcool forum was overboard but still many of the older grower did left because of that very reason...
I still can't get around the fact that a mkg savy guy like sub would pull such a move but i guess he had no other options, again i dont have any question to ask...

Reef, dude I've seen your garden and know you only post where you do. All I'm saying is you weed nerds have all the knowledge you need to keep the tga threads alive. If you believe in what subs doing it shouldn't matter what anyone says or if sub is here personally on the site. Carry on his legacy, if there was any time sub would say you guys get to work, now would be the time! Lets all stop with he said she said stuff and continue to spiral outward!

its funny i was gonna say something similiar.
i consider reef an above avg grower. he has sick gear and a sick set up .
ppl like u can easily replace subs posts here. i feel like recently he hasnt been super active, here anyway.
if all you guys go however, then yes RIU would have an issue. i know im gonna try and educate the super newbies
and pay it forward the knowledge i have learned in the couple months on here. onward and upward RIU.

Funny guy lol

so as I understand it sub is leaving due to health issues. Probably the best thing the followers of him and his methods could do is stop bitching and whining about it and keep his memory and ideas alive here by posting pics of your grows following his advice.

This would be the best barometer of his legacy imo. Showing that his "pupils" if you will are prospering due to his methods.

Or leave and go bitch and whine about it elsewhere.

I am not a follower of him but I hate to see such a valuable member leave us. Especially given the circumstances under which he has left.
I hope he gets to feeling better but after reading his last thread it seems unlikely. The guy wants some peace and quiet and that undoubtedly will not be found here.

I'd say that it is fairly obvious that the man is highly respected around here as his "goodbye thread" is still up and these are specifically forbidden.

and I agree with sunni on this one. A new thread on this same topic every day is getting old. Go to his thread, wish him good luck and good health and move on with your lives.

As if opengrow is any better... owners and mods there are just as incapable of running a "discussion" forum as the asshats here. Read few posts in a support... lol... no not lol... it's fucking sad.
