OK this might be a dumb question... I'm trying to get bigger buds on this grow, you know Colas lol.

I'm growing Two female plants, sin mint cookies and liberty haze in a 5 gallon bag.

Soil--I'm using miracle Grow, manure with hummus and perlite mix

Nutes--General hydroponics standard Micro-Grow-Bloom on basic schedule on bottle. Also adding a Drop of Superthrive per gallon. I'm using Well Water with a PH of 7.1 I use ph down to get to 6.5 before i feed the plants.

Lighting--Im using just one 400Watt MH in a home made grow tent. I basically just wrapped the walls in Panda poly and sealed all holes and cracks with white tape. There running on a 18/6 Schedule with the tent temps at 68 degrees with 30percent humidity. I don't have any inline fans or ducts i just open the door on the tent and have a oscillating fan in there. Not sure if this adequate air for the plants.

I'm also growing cucumbers and tomato's in a bag right next to the plants not sure if this is ok or not?

I want to know any ones opinion on what i can do to spruce it up a little, i also just fimmed them Hopefully i did it right i will attach photos. Thanks

they`ve never done anything to my plants. they never did anything with my grandfathers back in the 70`s, so i doubt it..

yes, there are things you can do to try to get bigger colas. Dialing in your environment to absolutely optimum would be one route. since it sounds like chemicals are no problem for you, there are certain additives you can look into. mainlining would probably be something you'd enjoy, check that out. The apical growing pattern cannabis follows will allow you to manipulate your plant (by bonding, trimming, reorienting lights, tailoring PAR/PUR spectra) in such a way as to redirect growth hormones to the tops. Simply trimming "energy sucker" lower branches would work as well.
be easy,

I was askin myself the same question. I have grew outside for the last few years and this is my 1st indoor grow and my colas are not close to the size they were outdoors. I have good food and good lights etc. but this size just isn't the same. I was woundering to I add more lights? But the answer i'm looking for is "What makes the outdoor colas so fuckin big?" Is it a unlimited supply of co2? Or more light than they will need?

If you want bigger buds theres a couple things you can do. One you fucked yourself on already by the looks of things, not topping. If you dont top youll get a kick ass trophy bud usually on the main stem. Another one is undershucking or lollypoping. If you trim off everything on the bottom 1/3 to 1/2 of the plant then the top buds get bigger and you dont have the schwag on the bottom. Indoor the bottoms dont produce much because the light never really hits them. Alot of how the plant grows is genetics though.

lol yea there xbox 360 high risers. So you think if i add a Second light it will help? I have 3 more MH lights but really didn't want to run due to the electric company :) There already mailing letters saying we use 80% more power than are neighbors. I'm only growing two plants in one bag so im not sure if i will benefit with a second light, Maybe if i had Just one 1000 watt.

I will try mainlining that's basically cutting off all growth below the nodes? Also starting on low stress training..

Would it help to use the aggressive nutes from GH? the rapidstart, koolbloom, floralicious and florakleen?

Its not too late to start doing some training for your plant so that it will yield more.. 1st thing you can do is top it... then in a couple days once the new shoots start to grow you can top them after they grow about 2 or 3 sets of leaves... I would top, top the tops, and then top the tops one more time... for 8 main tops... then you will want to supercrop and pinch the stems and wait another couple days for the plants to heal... after topping and supercropping you can tie down each branch to lower it to create a wider and lower canopy. Now simply give them the food and water at the right times at the right volumes... Also more light and bigger containers will allow bigger plants and thus more yield

Awesome info thanks, My last question When feeding the plants my well water is at 520ppm and 8.0 Ph once i add nutes i get 7.5 ph and 1300ppm how can i lower the ppm or should i be using a better water ?

Does this good food include seaweed/kelp liquid extract? I believe this helps big time in
developing big buds. I use it every feeding and I get huge buds outdoors.
Not sure if it can be used in hydro or other methods of growing besides soil.

He went through 5 xbox 360's? maybe I should reconsider buying one....

anyways cool looking setup. like the reflector you have

when it is time to transplant, do so into better soil. FFOF or Happy Frog. You'll def run into deficiencies/ ph fluctuations down the line with MG soil; as it has time release nutes.
Does well for vegging but when it comes to flowering; its just too unpredictable and not letting the plant take what it wants when it wants.
